Having settled for the 'menu de dégustation' of around 40 Euros/person, it was a big disappointed; firstly I am not sure why they try to imitate and 'Frenchise' their cooking, unless small quantities and 'bland presentation' is a good way of making money ? The started, ' Crab salad' had a few 'strands' of crab...unacceptable - the fish was ok,... More

Bodegon Alejandro goes down as one of the best meals my husband and I have ever had...and definitely in San Sebastián. Since we didn't want to give up our first child to eat at a Michelin rated resto in SS, we picked this place as it is a sister restaurant to a one which is renowned. Our tasting menu for... More

We loved the pintxos in San Sebastian but after a few days, we wanted a sit down dinner without the expense or formality of a Michelin star restaurant. Bodegon Alejandro definitely fitted the bill! The online booking system is straightforward and the place well located in the old town. The basement space is simply decorated and feels very peaceful after... More

Our server was great and reigned us in when we were over ordering. The food was excellent. croquettes, prawns, ribs and the fish will pil pil sauce. Dessert was to die for also. Would go there again in a heart beat. We tried calling but could not get through to anyone so Had to walk in to get a reservation... More

We had tasting menu on saturday night with wine pairings. Menu a very reasonable 42 euros, wine pairings for 6 courses added only 16 euros. Took 15 minutes after we were seated to get water and bread, took at least 20 minutes the end to get a check, service very good in between with courses well paced if perhaps slightly... More

We went for dinner at 9:00 and there were just a handful of people. By the time we left it was filled up more. Very nice quiet place a few steps down from street level in the Old City. They bring you an amuse-bouche to start. I saw fish stew being ladled out at another table and based on their... More

We visited this restaurant after being very impressed with its sister restaurant Ni Neu. The set lunch is 23 Euros plus VAT and includes wine. Great food and very good value for the quality.

San Sebastián is one of the most beautiful places in the world and the culinary experiences can be overwhelming. But between the Michelin rated restaurants and the the pinxtos bars you will want to give serious consideration to Bodegon Alejandro. Excellent service, quiet and comfortable seating and delicious food at a reasonable price all recommend this restaurant. While many cometnt... More
