nice afternoon lunch at a great price

I visited this in an afternoon as during the winter months it does not open in the evenings. When I arrived the place was very busy but was still able to get a table. The menu is only in Spanish and non of the staff spoke English. I had not researched this place before going so did not know... read more

so disappointed in this restaurant-the waitress was so incredibly rude and unhelpful-I asked for ice and she didn't bring it-when I asked again she pointed at my drink and said its cold-then reluctantly got me ice. She refused to give me a side salad. just so obviously was too much trouble to go to any effort to be in the... More

Fixed menu was around 10 Euro and comprised a salad (very basic) or freshly squeezed juice + soup (vegetables, tasty) + quite a few options for the main, 4 of which were gluten-free. I had stuffed red bell peppers, delicious. Staff spoke a very limited English but were helpful in terms of explaining the food options and provide advice on... More

In a city with limited vegan options, this place shines. It is lunch only and the standard three course meal options. Food was great, they packed up the extra and there were a couple of vegan options for each course. The gazpacho is fantastic.

Had the set 15.50 set lunch. I had a cauliflower salad with egg and mayonnaise and then a veg soup and a nice egg and spinach kind of roulade. Food was ok, nothing special and not at all regional. At least what we had. Though it did have vegan options which would be hard to comeby elsewhere. We did have... More

We visited at lunchtime and had the 13 Euro menu. The service was very poor and not friendly at all. It took us a few minutes to understand the menu (neither my husband nor I speak much Spanish) during which time several different members of staff kept asking every few seconds if we were ready to order, which made us... Maybe I'm giving it too higher mark remembering the sense of massive relief our family felt when we found this place. The food is good though, it's cheap and the portions are generous. I found the staff and the owner very friendly, it's a proper working resturant where real people come to eat, it's not overly fancy but for us,... More

Would not recommend, food was terrible, vegetables from a tin, small serves, expensive for what it was, rude service laughing at us in Spanish because he thought we didn't understand.

My fiancé and I went to Garibolo in March after hunting for veggie restaurants in Bilbao. I'm a vegetarian and presumed I'd struggle a bit with food in Bilbao, (which I did!) but was delighted with the offerings of this small and vibrant veggie restaurant! The owner of the restaurant greeted us warmly and offered us a seat. We hadn't... More

Really disappointed by the lunch menu del dia here. The food was like stepping back to 1980s. Few items seemed 'home made' and most felt like they'd been bought in from the shops. The sauces were uninspiring - a bit like condensed soup with little else added. Needs to modernise to survive, as other Bilbao restaurants mentioned on veggie websites... More
