A rainy Friday evening in Bilbao, and this place is half empty, despite its stellar reputation. A sampling of the pinxtos on offer suggest that innovation and sophistication is achieved at the expense of quality and freshness... . Alas, not recommended based on this single experience.

A nice little find in a quieter part of the old town. Old bar with cute renovations, excellent and innovative pintxos, good wine by the glass and all at a very decent price. What's not to like?!

Very good and nice prized pintxos at the Bilbao old town. Original and innovative cooking right in the heart of Bilbao's old town.

It's a great place to hangout and enjoy a very good pintxos. The offer is great and I liked more those based on fish than the others. The only remark is that they could look a bit more fresh, but their taste and combinatorics are what one is looking for when heading for pintxos. Don't worry, you'll be well fed... More

Amazing atmosphere and hardly any place to cling on. Crowded but amazing atmosphere. Food was very inventive and delicious. Prices were very affordable.

We entered the Irrintzi by the amount of people inside and outside, moreover we wanted to taste some of the local cuisine. The pintxos was very goodwith a lot of options and the price was nice.

The Pinxtos in Irrintzi are worldclass. Combinations of grilled monkfish with paella rice, burrito and crisp potato dreads, grilled scampi with avocado-pulpo salad.... Etcetera... Try them all and have a glass of cider to complete your Pinxtos-feast. We will come back, that is for sure.

Visited here on a Friday and Saturday evening and on both nights there was a great atmosphere and the selection of pintxos was good. A mixture of hot and cold items being served regularly from the kitchen, most of which are with a modern twist. Service was friendly and quick - just ask for a plate when you go in... More

We visited at 9:30pm on a Thursday evening. The "smiling waitress" noted by a previous reviewer must have gone on holiday, as the very fierce Basque punky lady behind the counter definitely would have prefered to have been somewhere else. Attitude rules here, as, alas, evidently frequently in Bilbao. (If you want smiles and service, try Barcelona...) The Pintxos were... More
