Bitoque back to cooking and doing it well

After stopping by last august I took notice that the Bitoque had returned to it's original formula which is preparing pintxos on premises at the moment and doing it well. The list is shorter than it used to be originally but everything is fresh and very flavorful. The place is small with little... read more

Reading the reviews about the Bitoque you might be getting the wrong impression. Here is the deal. This used to be the best tapas bar in town. Everything was prepared to order on the premises and the place was always full and crazy. A few months ago they decided to change their menu and make it easier to serve. No... More

I went on recommendation .. and was not disappointed. I tried 4 pintos, which I let the helpful waiter chose together with the chef. Some of the Pintos was award winning in Bilbao , some years back. Will defiantly go back when retuning to Bilbao.. go.

Recommended by the hotel--Bitoque's cuisine is creative, with lovely presentation, and of the highest quality. We enjoyed all the tapas, but especially the local seafood so much that we returned the next day. If you like to eat where the locals gather, where the service is also wonderful don't miss Bitoque.

The Basque have the market cornered on the best tapas (pintxos), but Biroque takes them to a whole new level. Self-serve, pay later. Great selection. Don't assume there's always food though - kitchen's closed from 16:00 to 19:00. Went back twice on a two-day visit.

Very creative cuisine, good and efficient service, we enjoyed Bitoque a lot. Pumkin velouté, seafood risotto , an excellent fish, fresh and ideally cooked and a savoureous cheese cake; everything was outstanding but the best is for the end : the whole meal with water and a bottle of wine for only 23 € per person. I don't understand that... More

Two restaurants, Bitoque Original and Bitoque de Albia, are being reviewed under this same heading on TripAdvisor, both under the same ownership. The one we went to was Bitoque Albia, Alameda Mazarredo nº6, which is about 15 minutes' walk from the Guggenheim, eastward along the river. It does tapas and bar upstairs and meals downstairs. The decor is over the... More

Had the great fortune to visit Bitoque De Alba and enjoyed the Menu De Dias. I am not sure you will eat better quality local food cooked with skill at this price anywhere. In a city with so much good food it makes you proud that some of the best is being produce by a British Chef.

really good modern pintxos, we thaught we were in the Bitoque original, but ot was Bitoque Albia, but anyway, same owner, really good pintxos, langoustine with beetroot, pigs cheek, oxtail, Gildas ( skewer with olive, anchovies and green pepper). really cheap and good for the fun and quality.
