This historic café has been in business for about 120 years and little has changed in terms of interior. It used to be a favourite place of Hemingway and still is with other visitors and tourists, and locals as well. When we visited in September we had to stand in line for a while waiting, but in less than 15... More

Could not wait to visit this famous Cafe. I went mid morning for coffee and then later the same day for a drink. I attitude of the staff is incredible and very disappointing. Unfriendly/unhelpful.

Visited Cafe Iruna for a late lunch. Had a 3 course set menu for €24 which was really good value. The food was brought out rather quickly and was very tasty. We also had a bottle of wine for the table which was included. The decor of the restaurant is very old and traditional and it was very busy too... More

Came too early for lunch but in need of...algo mas. Sat in between the front bar and the back dining room. They bartender was friendly and made me an Americano con hielo (iced Americano) and I tried a couple of exotic looking pintxos from their large and colorful selection. Everything was just fine. Nice old café. Tiles are gorgeous. Worth... More

This is THE classic Bilbo tapas bar/restaurant, and clearly a local institution. An architectural gem that is long-established, it has all the tired, weary service standards that seem to come with being effortlessly busy all the time. There are better drinks and food elsewhere, but this place is unique and worth dropping into at least once while in Bilbao.

The place was lovely. You could feel, not only see, the decades of tradition, all 111 years of it. We went for the pintxos menu - 12 for 20€. The variety offered to us was fine. But, to be honest, I was somewhat disappointed. The bread wasn't fresh. You can tell that the pintxos had been prepared hours before (which... More

Delicious pinchos in a very nice place. You can choose from a high variety of pinchos and enjoy the nice atmosphere. It might be a bit more expensive than others but it is totally worth it!

They have some very good pinchos here and good pincho moruno. Be sure to go upstairs to the bathroom, but instead of turning left into the bathroom, turn right to see the interior balcony overlooking the restaurant...secreto secreto! Also, the service can be a little raspy, but it is so endearing that you should not mind.
