Often modern restaurants on the waterfront in Spain are more about the view for the tourists than the food. Agua is an exception. From the tuna salad appetizer to the lamb shoulder main course to the dessert every course was excellent, beautifully presented and service was extremely good. All with the nice view and quiet ambiance. Highly recommended

There are many nice places in Gijon to eat and drink, it all depends on how much you want to pay and what you want to eat. We knew the people who now run this restaurant from a previous site in Gijon but now they have a prime spot right over the harbour. We had a table for six and... More

I went to this restaurant last august, everything was OK for this level of cooking except when the tuna (almost raw) arrived to the table, it was over cooked, all the way well done, we call the waitress and complain to her, she said she was sorry and we where right, it was very over cooked, she offered to get... I was invited to dine at Auga. The restaurant offers a short but comprehensive gourmet-quality menu with a good selection of fish and meat dishes. The fish selection is local and fresh. The restaurant is located at a prime position at Gijon harbour offering great views. Although wine is not produced locally the selection on offer is excellent. Definitely worth... More

At the port of Gijon is this modern restaurant, parking space nearby. Friendly staff and a modern innovative menu card. The tasting menu was excellent, you got a selection of all the good dishes from the kitchen.

On arrival we were treated like impostors. The service on the hole was sloppy, including one waitress spilling my wine on my plate, without apology. They took the plates away before we had finished and didn't even take our coats, rather left them hanging on that back of our chairs, not what you expect from the most expensive restaurant in... I made a reservation here in late June 2013 just as the restaurant's name had changed from El Puerto. I was a little concerned about the change in management, but hoped that the quality of food would continue. It turned out I had nothing to worry about. This was by far my best meal in Asturias. It began with two... More

My daughter and I went for our last dinner in Asturias to the wonderful Restaurante Auga. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome. We decided to try the 'Percebes' which were delicious with a glass of champagne. Following this I had the Mero which was quite possibly the best fish I've had. An exceptional dinner with attentive service... More

We ate lunch at El Puerto last week and it was the best meal of our time in Asturias. Great location on the water with ample parking which is free from 2 until 4. Really attentive but unobtrusive service. We shared a starter of spicy croquettes which have now become our favourite ever! Then lamb for my husband and monkfish... More
