Menu Degustation

We went here based on the hotel and TripAdviser recommendations. We went there for lunch. The service was good. They have a menu a la carte but the waiter "convinced" us to take the "menu degustation" (5 courses). The food was good and not that traditional. I recommend.

We found the restaurant in Michelin guideline and we thought it is worth to visit but it was not.....We ordered only our main courses and left the rest to them. The problem is that they are trying to serve as Michelin way but the taste of the meals are quite far away. Although the team is really friendly and trying... More

I visited this restaurant in sept 2015 within a group of 20 persons. The owner decided the content of the 7 course menu for us and it was delicious, worth for trying. Very good quality-to-price ratio.

Whenever we go to Zaragoza, we like to have dinner in La Matilde. Never before we went during Summer, when they offer less possibilities à la carte. We opted for a menu of 32.50€/person which includes aperitive, starter, fish dish, meat dish and dessert. All dishes are very well prepared, with first class basic material, and the service is impeccable.... More

Attentive service with detailed explanations of the courses. 5 courses for 38.5 euro with amuse bouches and petits fours. Unusual vichysoisse of borage(??) which tasted very healthy but not necessarily somehting I'd want to eat again . The main fish course of hake with clams and the steak were excellent. It is a small restaurant with no external seating but... More

We tried to order ala carte but the waiter decided on his own to bring us a number of other courses. After the third course we realized what was happening. While the food was good it does not measure up to the world famous restaurants in New York, Paris, Barcelona etc. The pairing of the sauces to the dishes seemed... More

We went here based on the TripAdviser recommendations. Importantly, the service is very good. The owner is friendly and informative and speaks English well. However, I thought the food was awful. We had the 40€ degustation. There was a cod dish that was hideously salty. On another dish, one of the items had clearly been reheated in a microwave and... More

For what it was, it's a waste of money. I know good restaurants having dined in some of the finest in the world and this is not one of them. The best part of the night was the wine which I picked 'Muga Reserva'. If you have an open mind and don't mind being given a menu then told the... More

We went there for lunch on Thursday after getting recomendations from 5!!! people on the local market. It was off peak time so we were the only guests. We got a nice central table and full attention from brothers Puyuelo (hint - local people go there for late dinner, so better go there at lunch). If you have time try... More

It seems a little, obvious to be reviewing an already top-rated restaurant, but La Matilde is really a bit special. You probably have to do it their way, since you are pushed to take the Chef's special at €44, but then it is very well worth taking (and they do let you pick your main course). The food is rich...
