We tried to order ala carte but the waiter decided on his own to bring us a number of other courses. After the third course we realized what was happening. While the food was good it does not measure up to the world famous restaurants in New York, Paris, Barcelona etc. The pairing of the sauces to the dishes seemed... More

We went here based on the TripAdviser recommendations. Importantly, the service is very good. The owner is friendly and informative and speaks English well. However, I thought the food was awful. We had the 40€ degustation. There was a cod dish that was hideously salty. On another dish, one of the items had clearly been reheated in a microwave and... More

For what it was, it's a waste of money. I know good restaurants having dined in some of the finest in the world and this is not one of them. The best part of the night was the wine which I picked 'Muga Reserva'. If you have an open mind and don't mind being given a menu then told the... More

We went there for lunch on Thursday after getting recomendations from 5!!! people on the local market. It was off peak time so we were the only guests. We got a nice central table and full attention from brothers Puyuelo (hint - local people go there for late dinner, so better go there at lunch). If you have time try... More

It seems a little, obvious to be reviewing an already top-rated restaurant, but La Matilde is really a bit special. You probably have to do it their way, since you are pushed to take the Chef's special at €44, but then it is very well worth taking (and they do let you pick your main course). The food is rich... My wife and I were visiting Zaragoza with a friend of ours. It was our friends birthday so I chose this restaurant. Boy are we all glad that I did. The food preparation, the food itself, the wine, and Luis, one of the owners, were all simply amazing. We all ordered the chef's special where he prepared different courses for... More

This is my favourite reastaurant. I really like the manners of the owners that love to help you choosing the best food possible. Quality is at maximum level. Usually you choos a main dish and the owner gives you everything else choosing what better could come together with it. Wine sommelier, there is a great choice among the best spanish... More

We've been travelling in France and Spain for three weeks and have had some wonderful dining experiences, but La Matilde has been the standout so far. The restaurant is just a couple of minutee on foot from Zaragoza's main square. The owners care about their food - in fact they say their philosophy is to request that each diner chooses... More

A charming and passionate little restaurant. Best is to let the chef prepare the daily degustacion menu - a modest amont of food served interestingly and in a Spanish Nouveau fusion style. Daily menu plus a bottle of wine and coffee 130 Euro. One of the most authentic and worthwhile dining experiences I have had in Spain.
