Carmela Bar is opened since 1994, it is an excellent reference to taste TAPAS, an Andalusian tradition. It is located between the Santa Cruz and La Juderia area, a very distinctive place of the Centre of Seville. This is the perfect place to make a break and sit down in its great terrace near the most important monuments of our city: the Alcazar, the Cathedral and the Giralda. It is also located very near La Carboneria, a famous place for live Flamenco music.

A bit dissapointed

Friends had used the restaurant before and were very enthusiastic about it, we found it to be mediocre and expensive. Four us us shared a cheese platter starter which being cheese you couldn't go wrong with it. My duck was very rare and OH's lamb was bleeding into the potatoes, I did ask for... read more

It was awesome I had the oxtail lasagne and loved it. The service was good and the staff were nice. Great atmosphere while you're waiting for your food but it's a bit touristy

Very nice tapas diner. We orderd and diner was served a few minutes later. For us it was a little bit to soon if you want to spent more time at the table. But the food was delicious en nearby our hotel (patio de las cruces).

We made our 'first night in town' mistake by going to the first place that looked decent on an empty stomach, Big mistake. This place was awful - I really can't believe all the positive reviews. Some people must be used to eating really bad food. I had a feeling the food wouldn't be good as I'd seen some of... More

We have eaten Tapas from Northern to Southern Spain, in the interior and along the coast. Outside of Barcelona, the Tapas at Carmela in Seville are the absolute best. We didn't know we were experiencing the best in Barcelona and were a bit disappointed in Malaga, Madrid, Marbella, and then we found Carmela in Seville. All the other places put... More

This restaurant is located in a central part of Seville and is a great stop off during a hard days sight seeing. Located near the Cathedral and the Real Alcazar this is a lovely little restaurant to stop off for a drink and a couple of tapas to re-charge the batteries. A couple of tapas will set you back less... More

Saw the ratings and went there. It was also near our hotel. I have to say that the main thing is really bad service. I had to wait more than ten minutes for the waitress to approach.Half the times I called her she forgot I did. The english is really scarce so it's hard to communicate. The food: really small... Hot chocolate from instant powder that you mix in the hot milk yourself and salmorejo which tasted like it was out of a can was not what I expected from Carmela.

This is a great restaurant very good service, good food and a good selection of tapas all for a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit.
