New Year's Eve - expensive but worth it for a treat

We arrived in Seville the day before New Year's Eve and asked our hotel (not the Taberna) for some suggestions as dining out can be a challenge. We had 3 options at Euro 95, 120 and 150 per person and opted for the latter (Taberna Del Alabardero) as the food reviews looked significantly better. So... read more

Stopped into their 'bistro' downstairs for lunch (2d in 2 weeks)...really great value...only 14 euros for 3 courses (of many menu choices), freshly prepared and served by young adult students at Taberna's exclusive 'Andalucian School for Hostelerie'. Our fine meal: starters of 'white anchovies filled w/avocado', and 'stuffed tomato w/rice; then mains of grilled salmon over creamed spinach, and baked... More

We decided to try this restaurant because we wanted to be somewhere relatively quiet after all the lively tapas bars. We were not disappointed in terms of quietness. We had the mixed starters, then steamed sea bass and suckling pig. All ok but I wouldn't say they were special. Service was a bit of a mix, the gentleman who took... More

This restaurant was recommended by our concierge at the Gran Melia Colon and it has excellent reviews in Fodor's, Frommer's, and from TripAdvisor. Our hotel had made a reservation. We were greeted by a man who was only partly polite and made to sit for nearly 30 minutes in the bar area which was pretty shabby and unwelcoming. Then we... More

We have visited the restaurant as there were very few places opened on holidays, and the Michelin's star on its doors was also attractive. But we've been greatly disappointed. I've visited plenty of Michelin restaurants all around the world but there was no any such far from Michelin as that one. We have ordered Iberic Pork, Galician veal, chicken and... More

Perhaps we picked a bad day, but unfortunately the quality of the food was not even close to the quality expected. The place is very nice, staff in suits and service was top draw, not doubt. But the food was poor. We both chose to have the daily menu, which at 18.50€ is toppy for Spain. The dishes were obviously... More

We passed this by several times and decided to have a late breakfast here this New Years Eve morning. Very peaceful, seating in the lobby area (there is also a small hotel here). Service was very friendly and helpful. We each ordered the "time breakfast" plus some eggs. We received all the breads, coffee, juice and water one could want,... More

One of the best places I've ever eaten. The dining room is really beautiful and intimate. We were ther on a Sunday in December so it was quite, out of around 10 tables only four were occupied but it didn't affect our enjoyment, in fact the service was outstanding so it was probably a positive. The menu offered a good... More

Went in August '15 and ate on the top floor terrace with stunning views over the roof tops towards the cathedral which was beautifully lit in the night sky. It was very romantic! So I'm afraid I can't comment on the dining room / decor inside. We booked online on the day and had a booking for the evening. Delightful... More

We were lucky enough to be with a party to a Wine Tasting and Dinner in this beautiful venue. Stimulated close to the centre of the old part of the city, we entered into a courtyard reception from the small side street. Apparently there are six suites here as well as the restaurant, bar, meeting and party rooms. Staff were... More
