More

Every time I eat here I always have the ability enjoy great food (and being lactose intolerant in an Italian restaurant this is an accomplishment)! The only downside is the small size, but as long is the weather is good I love taking food to go and eating in a nearby park.

Notwithstanding the Italian roots, this will be one of most delicious destinations travelers encounter during their time in Granada, Spain. Maria, the owner/cook/matron, cooks everything daily just before opening in her humble corner. The food is fresh, flavorful, and, tantalizing to the eyes of passers-by as it sits on display in the main window. The place is not much bigger... More

Went recently to Viva María and I strongly recomend it!! The food is superb, real home made taste! The place is very nicely decorated and it is very convinient as it is right in the centre of town. The two women working there are very lovely and helpful and the price of a meal is unexpensive! Defenitelly comming back!!

It is a small restaurant with only a few tables, but wow is the food amazing!! Maria makes everything fresh, so she had run out of our first choice ( the quiche which we had the day before, and it was delicious)! But since everything is so great we didn't mind having our second choice :) The portions are large,... More

It is simply impossible to believe this is the #1 restaurant in Granada. Someone must be stacking the deck! It has three (?) tables and a counter, and tonight at least, no food except for one slice (!) remaining of a vegetarian pizza and a plate of cauliflower. The excuse: a bigger than usual lunch crowd. (What, seven instead of... More

Dear Timothy Smith, thanks for your comment. I'm sorry you have this bad opinion of us. As you well said, there was little food when you arrived last thursday. It happens some nights when any client comes very close to the closing time. I, personally, cook every morning with fresh ingredients selected by my self in the market. Never frozen... More

iViva Maria! is well deserving of the number one position in Granada. This quaint little cafe near the cathedral only seats about 8 people but my gosh is the food delicious. Everything is homemade, daily, by Maria herself. The other lady, maybe Maria's daughter, is so lovely - the two of them couldn't be any more welcoming. Vintage posters and... More

Now we only managed to grab a small dessert takeaway as we passed this after eating elsewhere. However, the food looked & smelled amazing!! Shame Maria only opens for a few hours of the day otherwise we would have returned to sample all the delightful looking food on offer. We were pre warned however that it is expensive.

We stumbled across this tiny little cafe selling home-made Italian food quite by accident on our last day in Granada. We came here for lunch and enjoyed it so much that we came back for dinner. The food was amazing - excellent pasta, quiche, torta di zucca and wonderful desserts - and very good value. The owner Maria is really... More
