Clarify which Castañeda

Pay attention. When reviewing, there are two Castañedas side by side, divorced from each other. Do everyone a favour and explain which one. You need to be in the one on the right hand side, if standing in Calle Elvira, with the entrance on the street right hand side. If you have had a bad time... read more

Tapas served with charm, beer, wine and more Spaniards than tourists. We went back the second night of our stay also. Do. Ot confuse this restaurant with Antigua Bodega Castaneda. If you do, you've missed the bustling activity, friendly staff and beautiful tapas.

The place was buzzing when we arrived, always a good sign. We informed the waiter that we were with non meat eaters. He proceeded to tell us what to order and we went along with this. The food was fine, but the tables are small and very squashed in. We felt rushed. The first bottle of wine arrived without a... More

This was a grave disappointment given some reviews. We ordered drinks but no tapas were provided. This seemed to be a common experience for other tourists at the bar, yet any locals that turned up got served tapas immediately. Even when one tourist couple asked none were provided. The staff were surly, disinterested and selectively deaf. The food was plentiful... More

Generally we prefer a quiet meal, but when in Spain, go for the tapas. This restaurant a few blocks from the Piazza Nuovo is the place to be for delicious food, tapas and wines. Be prepared to stand unless you are fortunate enough to get one of the few tables. The full meals, especially the fish, are terrific bargains and... More

food was great although when we arrived there was a limited menu. Nevertheless, portion size was reasonable and cost was not expensive. Wine on offer was fab. We were able to sit outside and there are quirky balconies nearby with a somewhat eclectic mix of things. The atmosphere and service were great.

Worse sangria in town, they just tried to trick us with cheap and disgusting drinks and food, so we left the place.

Had dinner here tonight after visiting Alhambra. Ordered the Iberico Jamon Bellota Joselito for 20.80 euros, half order of the hot tapas for 15.80 euros, glass of house red for 2.90 euros, beer for 3.10 euros. Including bread, the total was 43.80 euros. The tapas was too cheesy and the ham was a little on the salty side. We were... More

There are so many restaurants and tapas bars in Granada to choose from. Choose someplace else. We ended up here as the result of being indecisive (there are that many options in town) and wish we hadn't. The food was mediocre at best. The service was terrible. All over Andalusia service was slower than what were used to at home,... More

We stumbled on this place and it was crazy busy, had a standing drink then sat down for food. It was totally bonkers with loud people, delayed food, people hovering for a seat....but....amazing experience, nice food, not overpriced and a wonderful first night in Granada on this trip. Very authentic tapas, nothing too different, but go for the atmosphere.
