My wife and I visited Bodegas Castaneda twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. Both times, we opted for outside tables in a narrow corridor with a pleasant cross-breeze. The food was not exactly exceptional, but satisfying, and it's a pleasant place to pass a bit of time with a meal and reasonably priced wine.

Good for hungry men. Large portions if you order platters. Service wasn't very good, no suggestions or advice on what to order, which would have been helpful. But if you know what your ordering and if you like hectic surroundings you can have a good time here.

Very friendly bar with very nice ambiance... By the time we left (9:00 PM) it was packed! We even met a couple from the US who went there (like us) because of Rick Steves recommendation. There were four of us who shared a mixed plate of tapas and a mixed plate of many cheeses. The plate of tapas included sausages,... More

Big restaurant, with great atmosphere. Most of people are Spanish, all ages, but there are also tourists. At 2 pm it is difficult to find any place, it is so packed that it is difficult even to enter. Waiters are very, very noisy, other people as well, but this is how I expected it to be in Spain. My wife... More

We wandered around this area and choose this place as there was lots of people inside. Tapas plates and drinks for three people cost 42,40 € plus tips and it was ok. Not gourmet but good and satisfying.

We enjoyed every little bite. Service could be better with two waiters but there isn't enough space. The one and only guy does his job great and as fast as he can.

This is a very popular spot, crammed with locals and a few tourists. You don't come here for the service, rather for the very rustic and solid food. This isn't tourist tapas or modern interpretation. Bring an appetite or order a few plates at a time, portions are large. Best approach is to do as the locals, spread the eating... More

All the comments made in the reviews give a good picture of this place - busy, hectic, great food, very reasonable prices, helpful waiter, great atmosphere. We really left it to the waiter to advise on what he would recommend, and we ended up with 4 plates of food that was a bit much for the three of us and... More

This place is just what you to Spain for, the tapas, jamon serrano, cheeses, bread all just delicious, the service is great, typical spanish waiters that know everything you ask about menu or the city, place is packed all the time, but somehow you find a spot to eat once you walk, just a great place to eat. Enjoy!

We had walked past this bar when it was literally bursting at the seams. He who shouts loudest gets served!!! We came back at about 6pm when it was just coming to life. Great wine and amazing complimentary tapas. Try the moscatel de naranja. Orange muscatel wine, beautiful. We didn't have it but someone ordered an amazing cheese and pâté... More
