My husband and I loved this place! There were many locals and tourists in here, so don't go expecting to find a seat! We stood and ate at the bar. The tapas were very generous and very reasonably priced. The people watching was also very fun.

Too expensive for the food they serve. Actually, it seems like they're trying to save money by filling up the sangria jar with too much ice and by serving a dish without egg, and then, when we complained, they served half hard boiled egg. About the other dish, it was supposed to have "chorizo". Well it had like a little... More

This place did indeed have a mixture of tourists and locals but we noticed the locals were at the bar while the tourists we all quickly seated at the "reserved tables". We said to the waiter we wanted tapas and wanted to stand at the bar - 60 seconds later he had coerced us to sit at a table and... More

I see the reviews are mixed here but I had a great experience. It is very busy with a lot of locals and then some tourists. The tourists seemed to be sitting down and ordering plates of food which I cannot comment on because I stoop up to the bar with the locals and ordered beers and the house speciality... More

If you want the traditional Tapas experience then Bodegas Castaneda will not disappoint. The lunchtime atmosphere was great and the service was treat to watch! We don't normally go back to the same place twice (especially on a short visit) but we made an exception with this place. Expect it to be busy and you might find it a struggle... More

Well... I call those places Tourists traps.. food is in general OK, however, one of the dishes that we ordered was pretty bad.. service needs improvement. Wine is fine. The tables outside are OK.. It is a nothing special place.

The place is a very typical old spanish "bodega", just like the name reminds, so you can find many people standing at the bar, chatting, drinking beer or wine and eating some tapas or raciones. There are few tables and chairs too, but you have to be a bit lucky if you want to seat down for eating, specially in... More

My wife and I just returned from 3 weeks in Spain and Portugal and our meal here was the only bad meal we had. I don't like reviewing restaurants because so much is subjective, however in this case I need to make an exception. The worst meal ever. The food (we had a selection of tapas) was mediocre at best,... More

My dish I had for lunch was almost not eatable. It was spinach with chick peas and chorizo, so the ingredients totally fine, but I can't imagine what they did with them to destroy their taste like that. It's daring to serve that and charge you for it. The Sangria we had with it was equally bad. It tasted like... More
