Arabic Delight

Restaurante Arrayanes - an Arabic restaurant which is now located at Cta. Maranas 7 and called Restaurante Riadalbayzin(same restaurant). We were greeted and served by a gracious, young man who spoke excellent English. He explained the menu and Andrew ordered a lamb and rice dish which he loved. I... read more

We went to this place because of Rick Steve's suggestion and also because we wanted to try some tajine. When we arrived at 2pm, this place was mostly empty, except for two large tables. But we were told that the entire place is fully booked at 2:30pm, and we would have to be done by that time if wanted to... More

In the Albaicin, authentic Moroccan food served by the friendly proprietor and his son. They gave us good recommendations for my family with four children who were unfamiliar with Moroccan food. No alcohol. The mint lemonade was excellent as were the tajine dishes.

Wandering around the Albayzin, and Plaza Nueva we decided it was time for lunch. I pull out my iphone (which i had unlocked for the trip and bought a SIM card locally - I don't leave home without my Trip Advisor!) for Trip Advisor and pull out the Rick Steves' Spain book and both agreed that this place was the... Fantastic! We were staying in apartments just up the hill from Restaurant Arrayanes, in the Moorish / Moroccan area of Granada, at the bottom of the Albaicin and we'd seen a review in a travellers guide, so it was an obvious choice to try. We're so glad we did. It's a little unassuming from outside, but entering and down a... More

It was a very pleasant surprise when we walked into the restaurant (Riad), the design was very different from the coffee shop (casa blanca) branch of this three- store chain, but both transport their customers straight to Morocco. The owner and his brother seat you in strategic areas ensuring privacy and the best views of the intresting establishment. Both personally... More

We discovered this restaurant early in our trip and went back several times in a single week -- that is how good it is! The owner and manager, Mustafa, will make you very welcome and the food is just beyond belief! A wonderful atmosphere, a varied menu that cannot disappoint -- I can't wait to go back!

We, too, were looking for a tapas reprieve. This delightful oasis was recommended by our hotel and was a fun climb up the hill. Spectacular fish tagine with incredible olives and lemons, fresh vegetables. Started w the salad sampler and lentil soup. Made us want to get a Morrocan cookbook. No alcohol. Owner/host was welcoming and all service attentive but... More

Located at Cuesta de Marañas, at the lowest part of the popular Albaicín neighborhood, the Arrayanes restaurant is a must if you happen to visit Granada. In the nearby Cuesta de San Gregorio you have a bunch of other restaurants too. We checked TripAdvisor for advice on these and we decided to wait until Arrayanes opened. It did not dissappointed... Have been living in Granada for the last five months, and my only regret is that I just discovered this restaurant this past weekend! The food was delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I came with two friends and we had a pretty large sample starter for 12 euros (so good and you could tell the vegetables were very,... More
