Easter afternoon lunch

We ate at Azafran after our arrival in Granada from Cordoba on Easter afternoon. We were looking for something different than the usual tapas bars and fried fish at the tourist restaurants that are everywhere in Seville and Cordoba. Azafran was a very nice surprise. It has a very nice location and... read more

Best food we had in Granada. Ate there twice and wished we had gone back on our third night. Open kitchen, delicious food and very good service. Modern and comfortable atmosphere. Great location below the Alhambra.

Went here on based on a recommendation. Alhambra views were the best part otherwise a typical touristy place which serves reheated food. Mushroom risotto tasted okay if nothing to write home about. The chicken cous cous on the other hand was pretty bad - dry tasteless chicken and cous cous tasted like ready made kind you buy from a supermarket.... More

It was my second time at this restaurant, the first one was amazing (around 6 months ago)but this one it wasn't as I expected. I don't know if the kitchen staff have changed but it was a shame. We ordered a lamb cous cous as starter and it looks reheat at the microwave, some parts so hot and another ones... More

Friendly atmosphere and welcoming to overseas visitors who want to eat earlier than the average Spanish diner (who often don't eat until 8.30 pm at the latest!). The food was very good and arrived quickly. The menu is "fusion" rather than very Spanish, bu there is a good choice. The view of the Alhambra floodlit at night is stunning.

We are in here on a quiet Monday evening, although we were not the only patrons there at the time. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the ambience was relaxed. We had a window seat with excellent views of the Alhambra a short distance away. The menu was simple, seemingly with little choice, but this detracted from the excellence... More

I read somewhere that you know that you are an adult when you go to a restaurant where the menu does not have pictures. This restaurant really did need to have pictures, or at least more description, on its menu. At first glance there seemed to be limited choice and rather bland descriptions, but these masked the real quality of... More

Last week we had a great dining experience in the Ruta del Azafran Restaurant in Granada. We had a table at the window with a view of the illuminated Alhambra above us, just across the small river Darro. The food was well prepared and included a complimentary appetizer and an after-the-meal liqueur. The service was friendly and sensitive, observant, but... More
