Description: At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran...
At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect for the traveller that loves to soak up history. Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts. All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines. The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors. All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this. We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the dishes in the restaurant. We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.

Nice Dinner

Great spot outside with views of el Alhambra. Food is of Moroccan twist but with local flair. Tried various items and was not disappointed. The stew, chicken pastry, steak and duck were all good. Nice selection of Spanish guitar music playing nearby. One thing, cats hang out around the outside... read more

went for dinner on hotel's recommendation, the food was excellent, we had Pork cheek, Paella, tuna tataki and then choclate cake, all were superb with great presentation. We sat outside, good view and many street musicians to be entertained. The service was extremely good, Germax was attentive as well as the other gentleman and sweet lady. Enjoyable start to our... This restaurant was one of the best of our entire trip in Andalusia - we loved it so much that we ate there twice ! Where do I start ? The location is great, in the old Albaicin quarter, just at the foot of the Alhambra, with a great terrace that allows perfect views on the Alhambra (I recommend that... More

What a place, what a view. The restaurante is on the "Carrera del Darro" close to the river and literaly under the Alhambra. You must ask for na outdoor table, so you can allways look at the walls of the Alhambra from below. It certainly assure a diferent point of view. The food is great, perfectly cooked. Service is correct.

With so much choice of restaurants in Granada there are probably better restaurants to choose from. The food was perfectly ok but nothing to write home about. The location was good with views up to Alhambra but the thing that I enjoyed most about this restaurant was the number of buskers playing Spanish guitar which gave nice ambiance.

We had lunch at Ruta del Azafran and were totally wowed by the creative, tasty food that comes in large portions. Also the service added to the great experience - very attentive and quick but also friendly and not stiff at all. All in all a great experience, and prices - though on the higher side - are put into... More

My wife and I ate dinner at Azafran on three nights this past week. By and large we found it delicious and inventive. We especially liked the apple and goat cheese starter, vegetarian couscous, duck breast, mushroom risotto, and the pineapple dessert. However, on our last night the baked cod arrived partially raw, and after it was returned properly cooked it... More

We stayed in the Albaicin area for 5 nights and decided to eat here every day mainly because of the convenient location but also as the food was consistently good. The weather was very hot and other restaurants were not always open when you wanted them so convenience was important. We should also mention the friendly service and street life under... More

We ate at the outdoor seating area on a bright crisp June day with the Alhambra looming above. Our taxi driver had recommended it and he was right. The food and service were great. Prices reasonable. We especially enjoyed the Moroccan soup - actually more of a stew - delicious! Highly recommended.

We had the lunch menu which was a good deal, however the food was a bit underwhelming. It's a nice option to go to because of the area nearby.
