Description: At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran....
At the foot of The Alhambra one can find the restaurant Ruta del Azafran. It is in the
incomparable setting of the Paseo de los Tristes right in the Albaicin, which is perfect
for the traveller that loves to soak up history.
Our kitchen, surrounded by this extraordinary scenery, can be found in the same mix of
cultures alternating between Arab flavors, international foods and the traditional tastes
from Andalucia. It's worth to mention our Tuna Tataki, the Cous-Cous (chicken, lamb
or vegetable), Duck Magret, Moorish Pie and also undoubtedly our homemade desserts.
All of this accompanied by the best local wines, cavas from the Alpujarra mountains
and a special selection of Rioja and Ribera del Duero wines.
The restaurant Ruta del Azafran offers different menus for groups that are carefully put
together by our chef to provide the most exquisite flavors.
All of our meats are Halal and we are ready to accept any request with respect to this.
We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Our kitchen professionals who make up a highly qualified team assemble all of the
dishes in the restaurant.
We invite you to visit us: to enjoy the surroundings and taste our exquisite dishes.

Great starters

We dined here on two successive evenings and on both occasions the goat's cheese & apple and the scrambled egg with cod & beans starters were delicious. we had mixed feeling about the couscous. The restaurant is very cosy, the food is very good (we ate a paella for two persons - very well served) and the waiters are very friendly. The Alhambra view from the restaurant completes the scene. We strongly recommend!

Fabulous place, it's a small restaurant right on the street just nearby the Alhambra. Really romantic and food is really special. I ate a maroccan chicken and foie with an excellent wine and consider a place where you must go!

We chose this restaurant accidentally, and were lucky to get the last unbooked table for dinner (probably, because of the timing, as 7:30 p.m. is rather early by Spanish standards). The view from the restaurant is really spectacular, especially during twilight, but what's even more important, it's combined with really delicious food and the menu offering a variety of choices.... With a view up to the dramatically illuminated Alhambra, this restaurant is perfectly situated. During the day the large windows afford great people watching. The food is a blend of modern Spanish with Moroccan influences. So good was the food that we dined here four times during our stay. The menu highlight for me was a stack of goats cheese... More

I go to Granada often because my family lives there, but this time I went with someone and I wanted to try a new place which could show how nice morrocan/andalusian food is and I couldn't have choosen better!! We were lucky enough to experience the special menu on New Year's eve. From the beginning with a glass of champagne to welcome us, through each of the seven courses, the food was exquisite. The flavours were all delicious, the food was beautifully presented and the service was friendly and professional. We had a seat at the window so looked... More

This was the best meal we had in Granada - nicely presented, flavorful, eclectic Moroccan and Asian-inspired dishes. The restaurant is located along Rio Darro, about a 15 minute walk from Plaza Nuevo. We ate outside in the late evening, with the illuminated Alhambra above us. It was perfect for our last night in Granada.

Thinking that this restaurant was a tourist trap because of its auspicious exposure (view below the Alhambra sitting on high), I hesitated making a reservation for our evening meal. It was everything BUT a trourist trap. The food, the service, the placement, surroundings and excellent quality price were all perfect. So what does one do in such a case, we... More
