It is modern and very attractive decor. Super friendly staff. The food was delicious, slightly too much olive oil on the grilled vegetables but the chicken skewers with peanut sauce were perfect. The lamb wrap took a little too long but the service was otherwise good.

The old Matahambre was in an old red brick building on a side street off Calle San Miguel, which is the main shopping street in Torremolinos but it closed last year (2013) and has now re-opened on the main street that runs through Torremolinos, in a very modern and nice building. The upstairs outdoor patio is the best place to... More

Went here for our friends 40th birthday meal, and what a meal ! Amazing choice of dishes on the tapas menu, which is where we chose from. Service was very good, efficient but not intrusive. Prices were really good for the quality of food and service, we paid less than 80 euros for a massive meal including 2 bottles of... More

Went here on advice from the waiter in the hotel as we were looking for a typical Spanish type tapas food. He advised us this is where a lot of the local people go. We arrived at 20:30 and there was already a waiting time of 30 minutes to sit outside with free table inside. Therefore we decided to eat... More

Matahombre is a great Spanish tapas bar/restaurant. Excellent value interesting menu. English version is available. Inside is rustic Spanish cellar look with wine barrels as tables, lovely outside terrace to. Great wine list and food was great, well worth a visit.

Four of us arrived about 9pm. Three were no free tables outside so sat inside. The menu is very large, with lots of popular tapas. As previous reviews have said the service was very slow. A very busy restaurant with too few staff. Food was great; chorizo, gulas and the home/hand made savoury doughnuts especially good. Beware if you order... More

This has to be the best restaurant in Torremolinos. Yes it is always busy, people queue before it even opens! But is is definitely worth waiting for. Unlike traditional tapas restaurants, it is recommended to order all the dishes at once and they will come as they are ready. The food can not be faulted it is always of a... More

We visited this restaurant on the last day of our holiday in Torremolinos. It was extremely busy at 8pm when we arrived (and it had only just opened) but this was mainly due to a large college trip that seemed to dominate the tables. However throughout the evening we saw many people wanting to be seated and having to be... More

The choice on the menu is huge. Some standard tapas, but lots of exciting dishes I have not seen elsewhere. The menu has a red dot next to the most popular dishes. Visited just after 20:00 on Friday 5th July with my wife and we were given the English menu, but were only given one so we shared. The menu... More

if the service at this famous tapas bar was as perfect as the food, perhaps it could reach Mitchelin star, forgive me but they need more staff and to teach some of them basic hospitality skills!
