We were recommended this place by the owner of the apartment we are renting from. She even gave us recommendations on what to order - the specialties of Malaga. Berenjenas (fried aubergines) served with molasses and salmorejo as well as Malaga salad. The atmosphere is certainly very nice, a place to be seen and to people watch. This restaurant is... More

We visited El Pimpi for lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was fabulous. Lovely restaurant, really different tapas, and brilliant staff. The best food we had in Spain on our holiday.

If he's in the city there's a possibility you might bump into Antonio Banderas in this unique bodega. It's small front entrance belies the size of this building which is spread over 2 floors containing 5 or 6 rooms of various sizes. The atmosphere, especially in the evenings, is busy and jovial. A range of tapas is available although a... More

Worth a visit just for the history. Full of Flamenco dancers and singers of the past. Their photographs line the walls with known celebrities. Very friendly staff. Good selection of wines and nibbles. A nice outdoor area and various selection of "rooms".

Hidden in the centre of Malaga is El Pimpi, one of the oldest bars in Malaga. Its bars are a maze of different rooms all of which have their unique personalities. However, most visitors get no further than the outdoor cafe bar facing the Alcazaba. Certainly go inside and look around. When we were there, they had a group playing... More

This bodega has been recommended by my Malagueño colleague. El Pimpi is an iconic place, located in typical Andalusian house from XVIII century. Bodega welcomed lots of intellectuals, artists and Spanish celebrities. Usually it is overcrowded, particularly on Friday or Saturday evening. I would recommend you to visit this place at noon or early afternoon to enjoy the charming atmosphere.... More

The Finnish travel magazine called Matkalehti recommended several restaurants in Malaga an El Pimpi was one of them. The restaurant looks nice with large terrace. We ate inside because it was not so hot. We took two-course-meals. My husband took seafood paella as a starter and fish of the day for the main course. Paella tasted ok but it was... More

I wish I could write a bad review so that this place stays semi hidden and not completely overrun by tourists but the food is too good to have the world share in it! At the end of the day, to sit and savor the flavours erupting from the dishes they serve should eliminate any poor feelings anyone might have... More
