My husband and I were in Malaga for a long weekend and stayed in the Malagueta area. We came across this restaurant our first day and had to go back again the next day. We had several different tapas including ensalada rusa, porra and the cigalas. The food was amazing, the service was fantastic.

We eat there twice during our 10 days stay in Malaga. First time we had tapas and second time we visited the restaurant, both gave us very good experiences. The prices was good and excellent service to.

What a surprise to find this modern, clean and light establishment right next to the cathedral in old Malaga. Good chairs, spacious, white linen, and everything shines. Service is very friendly and helpful, and we had one of the best meals ever in Spain. The marinated Jabugo ham, shrimps, and the Russian salad are delicious starters, we chose the cold... More

This is a review of El Refectorium near the cathederal (Los Abades). The decor and ambience is good - clean, modern looking with white tablecloths. Service is good - the waiter was very helpful despite our hopeless Spanish. We ordered a Russian salad and a tomato salad to start - which frankly was a mistake - the potions were vast.... More

One of my favourite restaurants in Malaga. Everything is classy from professional waiters, the decor and the outstanding food My wife and I shared the home made croquettes as a starter and then I had squid in its ink with peppers and rice, absolutely fantastic. Total bill €50 for two including 3 drinks. One can also have tapas at the... More

We saw a restaurant "El Refectorium" on one of our walks through the city, but could later not remember its exact location. When checking Tripadvisor, it appeared that there were TWO restaurants with that name. When seeing the location of El Refectorium del Campanario (quite a bit outside the city center), we decided this must be the one we saw.... More

While living in this area for almost 6 years i know all of Malaga very well. This restaurant is a has-been. It serves the types of diners who don't want to try anything new and have been going for 20 years. Sometimes looks busy, but people are just drinking a beer. Not good value for money, and nothing special. Overpriced... More

Best pimientos al padron ever. I go back just for that! The rest of the menu is very solid as well.Go early (8:00) to get a seat in the bar as it fills up by 9:00.

We were well looked after by Kali and his colleagues in this great little find. It was bustling and yet chilled out with mouth watering tapas and raciones. Full of well dressed locals in the know. Would really recommend!
