We had a great meal, one of the best we have had in Spain. The service was great, and there was a brilliant vibrant atmosphere. It's not a 'posh posh' restaurant, but not shorts and t shirts either. The waiter was very attentive and welcoming, but not overbearing. The steak was perfectly cooked and had been left to stand, and... More

We visited this restaurant 1. based on the recommendation of our hotel 2. also the latest positive reviews on tripadvisor 3. as this restaurant provided gluten free food. We should not have done or we might have had to choose tapas bar instread of the restaurant. Our starter, grilled duck liver was cold inside and had very bad taste, the... More

The restaurant is located in a small street in Malagueta area. You will find a lot of locals there. This is a must restaurant where you can enjoy typical food in good portions. We always start our vacation in Malaga by visiting La Ménsula. The best jamón you will taste. Try also a "flamanquín". They offer good wines in glass.... More

We had a wonderful experience at La Mensula. The atmosphere is really lovely - true 'old style' Spain. The staff are friendly and the wines beautiful. The food was gorgeous. My husband had solomillo of pork in a lovely sauce whilst I had red snapper in a tomato based sauce. All home-made and restaurant standard. We will definitely return!

There are hundreds of restos cum tapas bars in Malaga. But it's quite difficult to identify which one is commendable for such a short visit. So, to lighten the burden of searching we have asked our hotel receptionist at La Casa Azul. Surprisingly, there is one a block away from our hotel which was convenient as I was hungry from... More

It is not cheap but you get your value for money. Fresh fish you can pick from the ice counter. Helpful staff and quality of cooking...this is place to try some fish you never tasted before. Wonderful and packed with not only tourist which is always a good sign.

Incidentally, we walked into this restaurant inside, and we do not repented of the single moment. By locals, and it's no wonder. Really affordable "tapas del dia" and how tasty. Special meals. Try to still fit into the side of the bar, as the facility itself will be able to celebrations and bigger events.

On a recent visit to Malaga, we found La Mensula in a street near to our B&B. It had a great bar area, and was full of locals. It was very Spanish, and even the waiters spoke minimal English. We ordered suckling pig, which was served with a small side salad. It was mouthwatering. It was followed by coffee and... More

Based on TA reviews, we went to La Mensula for a lunch of tapas. While we speak some Spanish, our waiter recognized we were struggling and courteously recommended tapas choices from their daily specials. The clams were remarkably fresh and were cooked in a light sauce of white wine and parsley. Our smelts were beautifully fried in the lightest imaginable... More
