Huge chain style restaurant concentrating on seafood. All Romerijos are big and impersonal, the sea food is fresh and is prepared with no fuss, just fresh and fried, cooked or a la plancha. Mayo or ketchup is 80 cents extra.. you get the picture it is not an upmarket restaurant but the food is good.

Most local people avoid this place as it caters for tourists. As said in a previous review they own large chunks of el puerto so can afford to do what they do. It's fairly expensive, noisy and crowded in summer and the waiters will not be friendly as they're under pressure. All in all unfortunately el puerto is not a... More

Of the frituras of the Costa Luz, Romerijo is one of the better. Romerijo is a commercial fishery and owns the two adjacent restaurants in El Puerto so the fish is fresh. The gambas ajillo were excellent as well as the boquerones and outstanding were the calamaritos. Offering half rations, Romerijo allows 2 people to enjoy 3 fish dishes and... More

Very well established (think Mafia) seafood restaurant. Some shellfish is fresh, some isn't. Avoid the octopus (pulpo), this is a speciality of Galicia, not Andalusia. Avoid the mussels and fried food. Toilets are good.

Wondering around the beach front of Santa Maria, I saw the fresh seafood display so can't help to pup in and try some.. I order jumbo scallop with shrimp , fish soup and octopus with potatoes. The seafood is fresh but sand inside of the shrimp, the soup taste flat. I think the chef should improve the cooking..

Don't miss this place if you come to Andalusia. There are other Romerijos in Sevilla and Malaga too, but this is definitively the best one. You go and get see food in one shop, fish in another one, while ordering beer or wine and any other speciality in the restaurant where you will have your fest. Unforgetable!

If you want true taste of andalusian fresh seafood lunch/dining, Romerijo has always been one of my top places to go. Unusual as you have to line up and choose what you want on your platter and, pay and then go to table. There is also table service. If you decide to go with fried seafood, perhaps not the best... worth a visit if you want some really good seafood/shell fish. Staff are pretty busy and not as attentive as some.... good for afterwards as this area has loads of bars/pubs and is lively!!!
