If you are in El Puerto de Santa Maria you have to go to Romerijo. My favorite is cazon en adobo, in the fescaito frito store. Then you cross the street and buy gambas and sit down for a cold beer and eat them. Heavenly.

The freshest seafood with a great choice available. We had a platter with Lobster, Shrimp, Langoustines, Prawns and Winkles and everything was cooked to perfection and really tasty. To be fair it was expensive compared to every other restaurant food we had encountered in El Puerto de Santa Maria but on the other hand if we had bought it in... More

The seafood is great (even the deep fried must be eaten with pleasure and no guilty) please be aware that invoice can be quite... «heavy»... but it worthes every cent and every Euro!

In English below. Very disappointed... More

Huge chain style restaurant concentrating on seafood. All Romerijos are big and impersonal, the sea food is fresh and is prepared with no fuss, just fresh and fried, cooked or a la plancha. Mayo or ketchup is 80 cents extra.. you get the picture it is not an upmarket restaurant but the food is good.

Most local people avoid this place as it caters for tourists. As said in a previous review they own large chunks of el puerto so can afford to do what they do. It's fairly expensive, noisy and crowded in summer and the waiters will not be friendly as they're under pressure. All in all unfortunately el puerto is not a... More

Of the frituras of the Costa Luz, Romerijo is one of the better. Romerijo is a commercial fishery and owns the two adjacent restaurants in El Puerto so the fish is fresh. The gambas ajillo were excellent as well as the boquerones and outstanding were the calamaritos. Offering half rations, Romerijo allows 2 people to enjoy 3 fish dishes and... More

Very well established (think Mafia) seafood restaurant. Some shellfish is fresh, some isn't. Avoid the octopus (pulpo), this is a speciality of Galicia, not Andalusia. Avoid the mussels and fried food. Toilets are good.
