We as a family, with small children and sat at one of the tables. The bar was buzzing which gave the whole restaurant a great atmosphere. The view out of the picture windows certainly adds to atmosphere. The service was efficient and correct, but not particularly friendly - no smiles. The menu had nothing unusual on it, very similar to... More

Wished we hadn't stayed as within 30 mins the bar area for tapas was full and our meal turned out to be a plate full of duck that looked and tasted like lamb chops with the no vegetables so very disappointed. My husband had the cod with tomato and basil sauce and no different to any of the run of... More

The other diner below must have been unlucky because our waiter made up a table for us on the spot when we arrived without reservation in a bustling restaurant at 10 o clock. We went for a fish and were delighted with the quality.

We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend whose wife is local. Great atmosphere, food well cooked and interesting, service friendly and helpful. Good position overlooking the bay.

Visited this restaurant on our two night visit to Cadiz. What a disappointment! Waited over half an hour for a table, even though four were vacant however not set up, waiter seemed totally disinterested in helping us. When we sat down we were told that there was two different menus and they couldn't be combined together. (Even though i just... More

We are on month long Spain and Portugal trip and the food has been quite inconsistent. We had an earlier meal today in Cadiz which was lousy and not cheap and then we went to Balandro... We sat at the bar and the dishes were delicious with great sauces and a great vibe..lots of selection too and prices were good... More

We really enjoyed this place. It's a very good contemporaneous take on Spanish food. Tip: eat on the balcony. It is better and cheaper if you eat on the balcony, this is where all the locals eat. If you go to the tables you'll pay the double for the same food.

We stayed in Cadiz for a couple of days and we were delighted our host recommended we eat at 'Balandro' - the food is tasty and well presented, the restaurant is lively and busy, full of locals and families. The staff are very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we went back again for lunch the... More

The hotel receptionist advised us that the 2 best restaurants in Cadiz were El Faro & Balandro. She was right, we ate at them both! They have the similar menus but are both different in that one is quite traditional in decor (El Faro) and one very modern (Balandro). We plumped again for the tapas at the bar as opposed... More
