Lovely courtyard for a romantic "al fresco" meal

The inside of the restaurant is fairly "standard" Spanish, but the courtyard is truly lovely and a beautiful setting for a romantic meal "under the stars". The cuisine is hearty, fairly traditional food, and well worth trying the salmorejo (the "mother of gazpacho"). I also enjoyed the duck (pato... read more

During our afternoon strolling through Cordoba streets we spotted this place a bit away from the Mezquita area. We were looking for a change from tapas for an evening meal. Checking TA reviews confirmed our intent to try it. The centre room we were in had a great ambiance, with a lot of brick, wrought iron, and plants. We were... More

After the horse show, we went to this great place to eat dinner. We had seen it the day before and decided to go there. We hadn't booked but got in just before it filled up at 9.30 pm. The restaurant is very attractive, with an inner courtyard and covered cloister areas around it. We had very good starters, ranging... More

Monumental, ancient Cordoba has a restaurant choice that is not to par with its rich cultural and architectonic heritage. Maybe the intense tourist traffic has attuned to quick offerings with low competition. Among the finer choices recommended at the hotel and several travel guides was Puerta Sevilla. Strolling though the twisted ancient streets and just behind one of the entry... More

We stopped at this taberna early afternoon for a wine and short rest in the outside seating area. After visiting their loos we decided to stay and have a meal. The staff found us a table in the inside courtyard which was busy with lots of Spanish people in a couple of large groups - always a good sign if... More

We had a wonderful lunch (should really have been a dinner) based on recommendation and it was our best meal in Cordoba. It also seemed like very good value compared to some of the other places where we ate far less well but the bill racked up anyway. But we met some people who told us to avoid it as... More

We had to wait for quite a while to get a table but happily sat in the shaded exterior courtyard with a drink. This Taberna is obviously very popular with a well-heeled Spanish clientele; in fact I think we were the only foreigners dining. The service was dis-interested and rather unsmiling for the most part - certainly the manageress never... More

Beautiful restaurant in lush patio which represents all that is good about Andalusian cooking. The highlights were in fact some of the simplest dishes - anchovies on toast, and a richly-flavoured red tomato with smoked sardine and a citrus vinaigrette. The pork dishes are all excellent too, and I even found room for a rustic seafood soup and then the... More

We had an excellent meal in the cool of the attractive patio at the Puerta Seville restaurant just inside the Córdoba.old city walls. My merluza fish dish was probably the tastiest I have eaten in Spain. The salmorejo, obligatory when eating out in Córdoba was delicious. We'll definitely go back again.

make sure you ask to sit indoors in the courtyard which is beautifully decorated with many plantings, window treatments, etc. The food is nicely presented and in fair quantities. Service is slow by American standards.
