Bodega Mezquita. Tavern- traditional restaurant located in the Jewish quarter, close to MEzquita Catedral of Cordoba. An exceptional place where you can taste the best plates and tapas of cordovan gastronomy. Family business which we initiated our path in the 60s, is one of the favourite establishments as people from Cordoba as visitor from our city, when they want enjoy of authentic cordovan tapeo and best wines from our land. Cuisine which is made with traditional method, is essence of Andalucian gastronomic culture, with the best products from the rich cordovan land: Iberian ham, sheep cheese and meat from Valle de Los Pedroches, olive oil virgin extra, fortified wine from Montilla Moriles... As could not be otherwise, our specialities are: the famous Salmorejo Cordobes, Berenjenas a la miel, Flamenquin and Rabo de Toro. Our quality is recognised for numerous prize and honours like SICTED among others and the best guides to national and international travels too.

Sweet and low-priced

We chose Bodegas Mesquitas because we didn't run into the restaurant we were looking for. It turned out the better choice, great tapas, excellently priced wines, and our waitress, Elena, was upbeat, quick and professional. Extremely recommended for casual, traditional, affordable Spanish cuisine.

We chose this restaurant because it was busy and vibrant. We had to wait briefly for a table and proceeded to have one of the tastiest meals in Spain ever! The lentil stew and oxtail stew both had stunning flavours and the oxtail meat literally fell away from the bone. All very reasonably priced, even the wine. Liked the fact... More

We decided to visit to try salorenja, which we certainly did and it was quite lovely. The main course ribs with cauliflower rice sounded different and as I was looking forward to some vegtables we ordered this.somewhat surprised when it arrived, the cauliflower was raw, sadly I found the whole dish awful. However, the wine was fabulous, not really a white wine drinker this was delightful and... The favourite dish was a local specialty of baby broad beans with egg and ham. The service was very proactive and the staff very keen to have our dining experience rated highly on TA. Competition along this strip, directly behind the Cathedral wall on the river side, must be fierce. We passed by at least five other restaurants, perusing the... More

We literally walked in just because we could no longer walk, it was something like 45C outside, a scorcher. There was 6 adults and our poor 2 year old baby girl. The AC was very welcomed, but it only got better from there on. We had by far the best gazpacho ever...and we've been traveling all over Andalucia and Catalunya... More

This restaurant is really a three and a half. Very good location as it is close to the main entrance of the old city and right beside the Cathedral. The restaurant's air con was most welcome as it was a sizzling 37* outside. It had a very nice interior , cavern like, with flamenco music playing and videos of dancers... More
