Tasty, but better when less busy

I have eaten here twice--once last February with a friend when we were one of two occupied tables, and the food was delicious. Returned yesterday during the Christmas Market with my mother and the food was tasty, but not as well prepared or presented as before. The restaurant was packed, though... read more

I have eaten here twice--once last February with a friend when we were one of two occupied tables, and the food was delicious. Returned yesterday during the Christmas Market with my mother and the food was tasty, but not as well prepared or presented as before. The restaurant was packed, though, with tourists and locals alike. The wait staff were... More

We all tried the local potato dumplings, and even though they weren't really our thing we enjoyed the experience. I loved the beer-batter beef and plan to try to recreate it at home. We stopped in at 3:00pm but nonetheless were accommodated immediately. We were quickly joined by a legion of merry wanderers in their later years of life, but... More

The food here was out of this world! I had a special of the day which was a beef dish with potato dumplings and cabbage salad. For dessert we shared asparagus ice cream with fresh berries and honey and couldn't have asked for better preparation, presentation or freshness! I would highly recommend this restaurant for travelers looking for good quality... More

I'm sorry about the delay in submitting this. We visited whilst on a one night stop over on a pleasant warm August evening and so we chose to sit outside and people watch. The young lady who served us spoke moderate English (at least far better than our German!), I had already asked at our hotel what was a local... More

The Feuerkugel served the chestnut soup 10° above lukewarm. After having sent it back it came a second time with a microwave heat. My wife's Schnitzel was tastless except for the large quatities of sage. Also not particularly tender. My main course Wildschweinbraten came on a very hot plate and was very tasty but the quantity of meat was down... More

We ate outside as the weather was pleasant and there were lots of walkersby to watch. The menu is extensive (English copy upon request). There were four of us and we all tried different entrees and tasted each others'. It was unanimous that the food was uniformly excellent. Inside looked busy, with a steady flow of customers. I would certainly... More
