If not for dinner; Go for a beer. It´s a must to have been there. In summertime you can sit outside but that is nothing special.

I am really sorry to write it but I had rather negative feelings after trying to delight with the view of Ratskeller. First of all you can see it completely, because there are tents, and fast-food boxes all around full of tourists staying in queues. You can forget about a good photo as well for the same reason. However I... More

I was in Lubeck for six nights and had dinner at the Ratskeller on three occasions! I was very much taken with the atmosphere and the food. The salted herring was terrific. I loved the schnitzel (I'm a sucker for schnitzel) and everything else I tried was terrific as well. Very efficient servers too! Stop by at least once while... More

We wanted to eat traditional German food during our recent visit to the lovely city of Lubeck. We chose to eat herrings, potato soup, fish platter and wild boar from the extensive menu. The restaurant is in a vaulted cellar space below the old town hall. The service was good, the atmosphere was cheerful and the prices were reasonable. It... More

This is a place to enjoy everything traditional, both in the food and the space itself, at its best. The historic interior is wonderful, with vaulted ceilings lots of cozy little booths decorated with photographs and memorabilia of notable people from Lübeck. The food is hearty and tasty and the service good.

We came here two couples with small children and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Great schnitzel too and fried potatoes. Lots of different rooms and booths too. Very beautiful ceiling.

Found this place by chance but had been to the Ratskeller in Bremen - it was good so in we went ! We were greeted immediately and shown to a small booth. Place is in the cellar and full of character. English menu available which made it easy and the food was excellent as was the beer and wine. The... More

Didn't pick this restaurant in advance, just came across it by the Townhall, wonderful interior, super food and service. If you like an 'olde worlde' vibe then this is ideal for you. Good choice of food available, served with nice style, attentive staff and reasonable prices. They had some small booths and larger tables so great for parties of all... More

A very nice an interesting location in the basement of the city hall. Unique architechtre. Very good food. I had a typical German meal of weiss wurst sausage with mild kraut and potatoes and a salad. Moderate prices. Good service.

Our second visit to this restaurant and again we were pleased with what we got. This time there were 5 of us and we were originally given an alcove for 4 with an extra chair, however, when a bigger table became available, this was offered to us. Excellent! We had lots of room, our granddaughter was kept busy with the... More
