Fresh and seasonal

We set outside on a quiet Thursday evening and enjoyed wonderful seasonal food: my white asparagus with hollandaise, new potatoes and local ham was sensational. Short but good menu and wine list (try Weissburgunder wine) and very helpful friendly staff.

We had just arrived in Germany this afternoon and wanted some good, proper german food. Schumacher's delivered much more, as the dishes were well composed, modern and definitely a class above what we usually find at the average rustick german places. We were happy to find there was still time to get a main course, desert and a stress free... More

The food was good but nothing outstanding, and the waitress forgot to bring our salads until it was too late.

My wife and I started with a creamy chestnut soup, absolutely fabulous in taste. As for the main course I chose the farmers duck, with a crispy skin, a slightly burnt touch and the meat really cooked through, as if slow cooked, all placed upon a generous serving of red cabbage. A somewhat misplaced and not very tasty potato dumpling... More

The owner host does a great job of making you feel welcome. I had a lovely chestnut soup and my partner loved the pumpkin soup. The baked trout was unusual but also nice with leeks on top

The best restaurant in which we ate on a recent "Hansa" trip. We went there on a recommendation from the Atlantic Hotel. Beautiful place in a lovely house in a lovely part of town. We went with the host's recommendations. I had gazpacho followed by salmon. Both were as fresh and clean as I have ever tasted on a lovely... More

This lovely restaurant, set in a beautiful historical house offers great quality food and wine at very reasonable prices. The Chef, who is also the owner, runs a fantastic show where he manages to make every guest feel special, yet never intruding. He proved to be very accommodating as we arrived for a late night dinner, probably after the kitchen... More

Nice setting outside. The food is not surprising in ingredients. IT is very surprising however in subtile richness of flavour in What at first sight seems to be normal Italian food. Really very very very good. Extremely Nice service, knowledgeable. The recommended wine fits perfect with The food. A good combination of style And relax. We enjoyed iT a lot.

We sought out Schlumacher's when in Luebeck based on some Yelp reviews, as we were looking for some seafood. We were greeted by the friendly owner upon our arrival and were delighted to be in a converted old german house. It was in good repair but many of its original features remain. You can imagine exactly what it would have... More

The first night my husband and I split the cucumber wasabi soup, and we both had fish dishes. I typically don't order fish, but I loved it here. The next night we shared a series of items (asparagus and strawberry salad, flammkuchen, and a dessert), and we were equally impressed. The owner really knows his wine as well, so have... More
