Very close to the famous 'Holstentor' you can have a relaxing and enjoyable meal in the Yachtzimmer. Traditional regional cuisine of highest standard, very good local fish! Taste the 'Labskaus' or 'Dorsch' (cod from the the Baltic sea) with 'Rote Grütze' as desert. Interior with references to Lübeck. Very friendly service.

We had dinner here on an overnight stop on our way to Berlin. The restaurant was recommended by the receptionist of our hotel. We enjoyed a really nice dinner here, including the "Summer Salad" and the "Luebecker Steakteller". Service was reserved but friendly (as it should be in a german restaurant) and efficient, the food was tasty and well prepared... More

First I was pleasantly impressed by Yachtzimmer. Their menu looks sort of fancy, the ambience was nice, we were seated outside. But the good first impression, disappeared after few minutes. I ordered something called an escalope of pork and veal, with lemon, capers, anchovies and potatoes. I was expecting a nice grilled piece of meat, with capers and lemon sauce,... More

Although the restaurant is within yards of the Holstentor gate, we had no trouble getting a table outside in the evening sunshine. The fish of the day served with tangy cucumber salad and Bratkartoffeln was simple and delicious, the Holstein Fish platter had 3 kinds of fish and a pea potato purée. Wine by the glass was cheaper than by... More

We were 4 adults and 3 children. Our son is 6 years old and disabled. I have never before experienced to be rejected at a restaurant with him. This happened here. There were only 2 tables occupied and plenty with room to our son in a wheelchair and the trolly for the infant. Despite this the staff found it very... More

We had a very nice lunch here on a brief stop from our cruise (Kiel). Best part was the traditional German asparagus soup. It was the annual asparagus season. Excellent English.

Stumbled across Yachtzimmer. Following being let down at another restaurant - their loss our gain as the service and food at Yachtzimmer was great. We went for dinner and it was quite a buzzy atmosphere. Has a subtle nautical theme, nice and bright but not too much so you can still enjoy a romantic meal if you wish. Great menu... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel (Lindenhof) and we were not disappointed. My husband chose sea salmon which was served with an excellent mustard sauce; I had Schnitzel with a salad in a superb dressing. Our waiter recommended a German red wine we had not heard of and it proved to be every bit as good as our usual... More

We walked all over town and found the location and the interior of Yachtzimmer one of the more appealing dinner options. We had the hotel phone them to confirm there would be an English menu and make the reservation. The staff made us feel welcome and there was no pressure to race through the meal. The wine list offers a... More
