As we read earlier about this must-to-visit stylish restaurant we were eager to have a dinner there. We were really surprised to find such large space and a big number of tables in Auerbachs Keller, but the place is quite famous so a number of customers was also significant – therefore we were quite lucky to get a table. The... More

Great food, great service, great historical dimension. Excellent experience, especially enjoyed the murals.

This unique and antique restaurant offers turists a glimps of true German style cooking. We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and ended up eating an amazing shnitzel and drinking a great beer. utterly enjoyable, the bill was more than fair!

We've been to Auerbachs Keller during our trip to Leipzig. Knowing about this historic and important place we were looking forward to have dinner there. We had to reserve already in the afternoon otherwise it's impossible to get in for dinner. We got there in the evening and got a table for 5 directly at the entry to the kitchen.... More

Here is the most historical restaurant. All of the dishes are good. But some expensive. House wines are good. You can see many historical pictures on the wall. And wine tank made by oak is impressive. All of the staffs are very kind. But too loud because too many people at dinner time. You have to reserve the seats in... More

My husband and I wanted to visit Auerbachs Keller, because it was well-reviewed and it was a favored restaurant of Goethe (in fact, I believe it was featured in a scene from Faust). We both ordered a rabbit and cabbage dish, which was really delicious. The restaurant was beautiful and the wait staff was friendly. Admittedly, this restaurant was very... More

A truly historic restaurant, famous for being frequented by Faust in the Faustian tales, and being open ever since. A large statue of Faust is outside, with one toe of his boot polished smooth by well-wishers. Downstairs is a large, formal restaurant. Expensive but a most worthwhile experience. If in Leipzig, it is well worth the treat. If living there,... More

We have been here twice--once two years ago, and once yesterday. While we had a fine dining experience yesterday, with better service, it did not live up to our expectations for one of the best German restaurants in Germany--the food just wasn't spectacular. This is still quite a good place, however...

Had a very substantial meal here. The wide range of dishes and service good. Not the very best, but a must visit location if you are in Leipzig for more than 24 hours. Their Mephisto bar upstairs is very good to.

If you visit Leipzig for whatever reason and you stay there a while, you will hear about the German literary, musical and political history. - So, one early evening after a tiring meeting I went down the steps to Auerbach's Keller, to have a cool beer and may be, something to eat. there are big round wooden tables, and it...
