Good traditional German food in a

A famous restaurant. I ate in the large dining room where the menu is cheaper than when you turn left into the expensive restaurant having come down from street level. Worth it for the ambiance. Good straightforward German food and beer.Prompt and efficient service.

We walked out without delay as we were unhappy with the deafening loud clatter and the “no credit card” sign. Thought it felt more like a noisy school refectory than a restaurant.

We mentioned a food allergy and our waiter simply walked away and didn't come back. I finally got up and yelled at the maître d'. Still waiting while I type. No sign of service yet.

You know when you go somewhere which is regarded as one of *the* must-see places in that location and you come away thinking, well that was a bit meh? No worries on that score here. I'd been to Auerbach's Keller back when it was one of the then DDR's few places worth visiting. I expected it now, being full-on capitalist... More

The meals served were delicious and of good quality. Cannot complain about it. We took the meal of the day what was typical German plain food. But the staff is unfriendly and since the restaurant was crowded and interested in getting rid of you very fast. The fun fact: Nevertheless it took a while to order our food because the... More

I visited here in the summer of 2015. Its a very famous location in Germany! Personally I really like German food and they do it here really well. The staff are really friendly and professional and the restaurant prices are very reasonable. If you are in Leipzig visiting here is an absolute must!

Lovely atmosphere. Reasonable range on menu. My kids said that the Werner schnitzel was the bet that they had, but not all dishes quite 5 star. Service rather indifferent, which w a trifle irritating. Be warned, credit cards not taken.

I booked the table in the main hall which can accommodate between 50-100 customers. The staff was very friendly and fast. For dinner we had meals from typical menu in Saxony what was very tasty fresh and well made. I strongly recommend this place to enjoy the atmosphere of Bach times from inside

We enjoyed our meal thoroughly with great, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere. I think the biggest reason we came was because it is famous, but it lives up to its reputation. Would come here again and don't believe a trip to Leipzig would be Complete without it.

Having re-visited the renowned Auerbachs Keller I can only quote the fiedler on the roof saying, it is all about tradition. Not only is the decoration and atmosphere kept to the traditional style but so is also the cuisine and service. Other historical places highly charged for low quality should really come to learn.
