I have been a number of times to this restaurant and, most of the times I have been met with friendly efficient staff. Having lived in Madrid for a number of years, I am quite passionate about Tapas and Cafe Madrid does not dissapoint. I only ever once deviated from Tapas and that was to have a steak which was... We've had excellent and plentiful "after party" brunch at Cafe Madrid, but have also enjoyed tapas selections with our friends and visitors at evenings. Spacious and nice interior, but has also quiet garden. Good choice when you want to have nice time with more people.

We arrive and are greeted by a rude waiter who tells us to move our luggage in a very rude way, part of it wasn't even ours. It was extremely racist and condescending. We decided to leave, perhaps the food was good, but we wouldn't know.

Great location, pretty venue, nice break from German food, just don't order the calamari - too rubbery.

Went as a large group of 15- really great atmosphere ,staff really helpful in menu and wine options. As other revieers have said -the food is salty-and has a German twist-so dont go thinking its traditional tapas -Starters are ,mains are pre plated per person.Good choice of wine .

After having been in many German restaurants we came to Café Madrid with colleagues for a Spanish dinner. The menu was has a good choice of dishes. We found the food was fresh and tasty (and rather salty) but found little that that would remind us of Spanish cuisine. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant, but... Great food, service, and great place to watch people walk by if you can obtain a seat outside. Hidden on a street with a view of St. Thomas Church at the end of the street. 4 of us ate here for a business dinner to relax after a long hard day's work, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

went to take a break from German food and had a great time. The wine list if a little overpriced, but the food and service was very good for our large group (45). Ole in Sachsen!

A very good dining experience in the older part of the city. Extensive menu, both entrees were superb. Suggest reservations, as most table were reserved when we arrived. The servers were very good. As the property is located on a side street, it is a bit hard to find after dark, but worth the search. The deserts are a specialty,... More
