Only popped in for cake and drinks. It took us over 20 minutes to choose our cakes, the designs are a work of art. . the display is wonderful and the cakes did not disappoint. Excellent drinks as well . Superb place to have a short rest and enjoy superb food. I rate this place for cakes as top notch.... More

The lovely setting enticed us in but the dinner itself was very mediocre. Despite two tries the chef didn't manage to get the fish cooked properly, so I gave up and ordered something else while my partner finally had to eat his course to avoid it getting cold. The staff were at least gracious in trying to get my main... More

We ate here twice in the evening and once in the afternoon. On each occasion the staff were delightful and recognised us. They were perfect English speakers and very friendly and particularly helpful in explaining the menu to us. The food was excellent and the desserts were to die for! Especially the cherry sundae which I heartily recommend unless on... More

The location of the Coselpalais hotel and its restaurant/cafe could not be better, on the vast cobbled square facing the Frauenkirche. It was a sunny afternoon on Easter weekend, but still chilly enough that we chose to have a late lunch at the restaurant inside, rather than sit outside at the terrace cafe/restaurant. The restaurant is attractively furnished with comfortable... More

Beautiful atmosphere and great presentation but the food was just ok for us. It wasn't cheap either by any means. So maybe our expectations were too high.

This was a most stylist dinner we had, in ornate surroundings. We arrived early so had no delay in getting a good table. For mains we had Dresden meat loaf filled with cheese and trout meunière, both first-rate. For dessert we couldn’t resist their delicious cakes. We finished with cappuccino and tea. Throughout the service was friendly, helpful and prompt.... More

Great restaurant, nice wine. Started outside but when it got dark I went inside. Was really happy to find a perfect English speaking German waiter (found out he lived in Australia for some time). The restaurant looked like the emperor of Austria could enter any time. However the pricing was more western then the other restaurant I visited.

The Cafe had a varied selection of cakes, which looked delicious and the desserts that we had chosen were divine. Great value for money; the price of the generous piece of cake was only 3€. A beautiful terrace with views of the Frauenkirche on a warm sunny day is truly enjoyable. Friendly and professional members of staff took good care... More

The restaurant looks grand from the outside, beginning with a nice courtyard and continuing inside. The food is well presented and the waiting staff are very knowledgeable and professional in their approach. Despite all that the prices are very reasonable. My only slight criticism would be that they could turn the heating down a bit - it was very warm... More

We stop for sweets at the Coselpalais on every trip to Dresden. Each time we try different treats. My favorite is still the Porcelain Torte, but this time we tried (and shared) the Mousse au Chocolat-Torte, the Cosel-Haustorte and the Erdbeer-Limetten-Sahnetorte. Still, nothing matches the Porcelain, but all still rate the 5 Points that the Cafe always earns. This trip,... More
