Beautiful atmosphere and great presentation but the food was just ok for us. It wasn't cheap either by any means. So maybe our expectations were too high.

This was a most stylist dinner we had, in ornate surroundings. We arrived early so had no delay in getting a good table. For mains we had Dresden meat loaf filled with cheese and trout meunière, both first-rate. For dessert we couldn’t resist their delicious cakes. We finished with cappuccino and tea. Throughout the service was friendly, helpful and prompt.... More

Great restaurant, nice wine. Started outside but when it got dark I went inside. Was really happy to find a perfect English speaking German waiter (found out he lived in Australia for some time). The restaurant looked like the emperor of Austria could enter any time. However the pricing was more western then the other restaurant I visited.

The Cafe had a varied selection of cakes, which looked delicious and the desserts that we had chosen were divine. Great value for money; the price of the generous piece of cake was only 3€. A beautiful terrace with views of the Frauenkirche on a warm sunny day is truly enjoyable. Friendly and professional members of staff took good care... More

The restaurant looks grand from the outside, beginning with a nice courtyard and continuing inside. The food is well presented and the waiting staff are very knowledgeable and professional in their approach. Despite all that the prices are very reasonable. My only slight criticism would be that they could turn the heating down a bit - it was very warm... More

We stop for sweets at the Coselpalais on every trip to Dresden. Each time we try different treats. My favorite is still the Porcelain Torte, but this time we tried (and shared) the Mousse au Chocolat-Torte, the Cosel-Haustorte and the Erdbeer-Limetten-Sahnetorte. Still, nothing matches the Porcelain, but all still rate the 5 Points that the Cafe always earns. This trip,... More

Based on the rave reviews we had put this restaurant on our “must-eat” list and were delighted to have stumbled upon it during our lunch break. Perfectly situated just across from the entrance to the Frauenkirche with a beautiful outdoor eating area, we were lucky to find a table on a glorious August midday. Our light lunch was delicious in... More

We enjoyed this place so much that we actually ate here twice out of three day visit! Loved the Fischtopf (Fish soup) and the crepes. My husband ordered Gluhwein and enjoyed it. The wine selection is a tad expensive, and the cheaper glasses are only so-so. Luckily, they usually have wine by the glass specials. The waiters/waitresses are very kind... More

First we waited ages for our first course, so long in fact that we were about to just get up and go. It took so long in fact that a couple arrived near us and were on to their main courses before we received ours. And my lord was it disappointing and so strange. Three small cold balls of goats... I have eaten 3 times in this restaurant in the past several years. Every meal has been great. Salads or main courses are very tasty and well done and not the heavy fare served in some restaurants. Desserts are delightful. The location is just steps away from the Frauenkirche so the view is nice when sitting in the courtyard. Reasonable... More
