Great lunch location at top of funicular railway

As a transport geek, I can't resist travelling on funucular railways, and here was no exception. We had unlimited travel for a week so it was a no-brainer. We traveled to Dresden and the Luisenhof as part of a guided tour of Germany. The restaurant is wonderful - great food and even better view of Dresden both before and after dark. You can climb up to the restaurant or take the funicular to the restaurant, which was fun. Well worth the trip!

We came here to have coffee and Ice cream. As a tourist this restaurant is a must! The view is unbeatable but also their after eight ice cream coupe and the pastry was really amazing. The food also looked good.

My friends and I visited this wonderful place with high expectations, often a dangerous practice and frequently leading to disappointment! Not here. I can honestly report we were beyond delighted. Arriving via funicular railway we were greeted, in English, and led through to the spectacular terrace offering jaw dropping panoramic views over Dresden, Saxony and beyond. Our brilliant, perfect English... More

After a lot of touring, our German relatives took us here for Coffee and Cake. Wow, I was impressed. First of all the ride up on the funicular (tram) was fun.The restaurant is across the street from the quant station and the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful with unusual architecture. We only stopped for dessert—what a wonderful selection of German pastries—really... More

I grew up in Germany. Believe me when I say this place is traditional. The Luisenhof has the charme of the typical German old school Café Restaurant where droves of Germans flock on Sundays for their beloved Kaffee and Kuchen. You stand at the counter and pick your opulent, huge piece of cake and have it delivered to your table... More

A business colleague was surprised when I called and said I was in the area, and he surprised me with a delightful dinner at Luisenhof's. The location is marvelous near the award winning Dresden Schwebebahn, hillside railway. The location is in a charming neighborhood of Dresden, and shouldn't be missed on any trip. The view from the balcony is spectacular... More

We were staying at a hotel nearby and visiting a friend who lives in Dresden. She recommended the place, which was walkable from our hotel. As we were led to our window side table, I noticed the breathtaking view of the city. The formal side of the restaurant was white linen, fresh flowers, etc. Menu offered many Saxon specialties, including... More

The restaurant is located on a dead end street in the white stag suburb of Dresden. You can ride the incline or get there by car. Parking is limited and so the incline is a good option. The restaurant is divided into two sections. The terrace and the more formal main dinning room. The menu is the same. During the... More

Ideal romantic place. Just perfect. Truly 5 stars restaurant, with table clothes and linen. And the wine, great local Rieslings, I'm not a wine fan, but that was great. I've been there several times on different occasions, and I love it.
