Even with no reservations, the four of us were seated immediately albeit in what appeared to be an overflow room. Nonetheless, the staff was attentive, professional and courteous, the food was absolutely outstanding, and the prices reasonable for the quality! The tuba steak was delicious and its accompaniment of Asian salad and jasmine rice made for a well balanced theater... More

Kastenmeiers a "top class" restaurant in Dresden, was recommended to us for fine dining from one of the staff working at the Reception of Hotel Louis Jacob in Hamburg where we were staying in December. Reservations were made for us for dinner from Hamburg before we left for Dresden. We were fortunate and thankful to get this tip, as the... More

The outside of the restaurant is as beautiful as its historical surroundings. Food is great! We had the 4 dish "surprise-course" and every dish was as amazing as the other. Good service and charming inside.

We had a very nice meal in this restaurant. The interior of this palace is very elegant and contemporary. Every course of the surprise menu was delicious. The waitress was a great help to choose the right wine. A very pleasant experience we would like to recommend.

Surprisingly a top fish restaurant in inland Germany. high quality of fish -but you pay for it-, nice atmosphere in a modern decorated Palace in the historic old town of Dresde. Very expensive wines. I wonder why wines in Germany get so pricy in restaurants. The service has much to learn, very little professional. They brought us dishes ordered by other... More

I liked the restaurant. It is an unsual place as there is a contrast of the outside design with the appearance inside. From the outside it looks like a palace from the 18-th century . The inside is a combination of brick walls without any decoration reflecting all the reconstructions and big mirrors. The atmosphere is warm. As an indicator:... More

We went here on the recommendation of a German guide who rated it the best restaurant in Dresden. People who have been making negative comments must have been to a different place. The atmosphere is relaxed, staff friendly and the food exceptional. There is no point in going there if you don't like fish. What they served us was first... More

This restaurant ranks as one of the worst I have eaten in anywhere. Here's why: the fish smelled. In addition my red snapper was served just about raw. This fish was not fresh. I should have sent it back and ordered something else. My wife's fresh was equally rank. I was shocked considering the good reviews here on trip advisor... More

to enter the dining hall you have to cross in front of the open kitchen with some corresponding odors that follow you more or less to the table. The waiters are attentive and helpful. The menu is mainly seafood, the wine list is extensive. The platters hace a good size, the qualitiy of the food was not more than average,... More

We had a wonderful meal in this beautiful setting on a recent rainy Sunday evening. Just wanted to mention-We noticed that all of the other male diners were wearing jackets. Haven't encountered this degree of formality in quite a while in DC, NYC or other European cities. My husband was wearing a very nice black v-neck sweater and dress pants,... More
