At home in Saxony! Loveably Saxon & Typically Bavarian Under this motto we welcome you daily from 10 am in one of the reconstructed baroque town houses on Neumarkt square in Dresden. Augustiner an der Frauenkirche has space over its three storeys in various lounges that can also be rented out separately. In addition there is room in the outdoor area, an open invitation to experience the pulsating life of one of Europe's most unique cities with a direct view of the Frauenkirche church. Friends of our Augustiner beer can choose between five different beer types, all of which are dispensed fresh from the barrel apart from the wheat beer which is bottled. Accompanying your beer you can enjoy the corresponding seasonally selected Bavarian/Saxon cuisine.

Warm, friendly and tasty!

We discovered too late that people reserve tables for dinner in Dresden. After being told that a dozen or more restaurants could not seat 6 of us, we were very thankful that the Augustiner had a table for us. It was cold and wet outside, but warm and cosy inside. It was a busy, busy night but... read more

The restaurant is near the Frauenkirche, the interior is traditional (good, spacious, nothing flashy, a little Bavarian-style). The waitress was polite, friendly and helpful. At 14:30 the restaurant had about 70% of its tables free. As for the prices they are OK, even lower than in most of the neighboring places. We've got a soup, bratwurst and bier for just... More

My husbands meal was good mine was cold and potatoes were hard , they were so cold. They were very busy so we accepted the 45 + minute wait for food and 20+ minute wait to be first waited on and given menu. No one ever came back to check on us or meal. When we finally got the server,... More

An enjoyable meal of roasted pork knuckle with sauerkraut and salad. Children's menus which doubled up as activity cards helped occupy the children while our food was being served. One minor hiccup being the wait staff did not seem to be fluent in English. Our dessert order was left out and we had a to repeat what we ordered with... More

Having arrived in Dresden at 1pm, we decided to check into our hotel and run out for a quick lunch at Augustiner around 2ish. On walking in, it was warm and cosy - I ordered the Schweinshaxe and my wife ordered the Weiner schnitzel. Unfortunately, the meal was very average. The haxe was dry and a little chewy, the schnitzel... More

I reserved a table there 1 week before the event, they suggested us a perfect table. Beer and food were perfect, staff was very friendly, we were fully satisfied.

We were looking for a restaurant with some character and this place filled the bill. It started with a menu that is printed in a newspaper style with the enclosed pages outlining the food and beverage choices in both German and English. Beverage service was prompt as well as meal ordering. The drinks and meals that followed were top notch... More

I felt compelled to review this restaurant a second time. We visited summer '14 and had poor service, but it was obviously just an off night for someone, because this summer we had fantastic service. Our meals were huge (I had the whole chicken with fries), hot, and delicious. The waiter checked on us frequently and was quick to bring... More

Have been here several times this year, the beer is simply the best. Visited for dinner last week and had a range of various Bavarian specialties - amazingly crisp schweinshaxe, mini schnitzels, duck, weisswurst, pretzels etc...to top it all off, Oktoberfest beer on tap(wiesen bier). Spend your afternoon enjoying a cold one and watching all the people around the Frauenkirche.
