Normally when it comes to fine dining we tend to head out of Dresden. Simply put this city is not well known for customer service, great cuisine, etc. However with that said there is a few exceptions and when there seems to be exceptions here in Dresden they truly are outstanding. Although we have eaten in many of the finest... More

The setting is rather formal, though if that puts you off, the wine bar downstairs also looked to be serving very nice food and wine in a more casual setting. The food was excellent, certainly worthy of its star. Vegetarian tasting menu was very well thought out, though I was a bit disappointed to be brought a fish-based amouse bouche... More

We went for a birthday dinner on Saturday - it was something very different from all the excellent restaurants here in Dresden - nearly a must for those who like to be surprised. Atmosphere was great, old building, but with an interior decoration that fits very well to the pure, focused stile of cooking. Who expects to have full overloaded... More

We visited a number of restaurants in Dresden (see our other reviews). Bean and Beluga is a taxi ride away from the City Centre located in a suburb. The menu is short and too the point with, in many cases, one word descriptions of the dishes. We found the atmosphere to be a bit to formal for our liking -... More

I went for lunch on a Thursday in August to Bean & Beluga with much expectation. Had read good reviews, and thought it was worth to have lunch just outside Dresden City. On arrival it looked dark and deserted. Noticeboard indicates restaurant is open from 18:30 hrs and the "Tagesbar" between 12-14 hours. Tried the door and indeed, they were... More

It's a die for place! The chef just showed why and for he has his Michelin's star... Scallops with morells, turbot fish with watercress sponge, octopus with pork belly, goose liver with a paprica chutney and rhubarb ice cream, and a collection of fine-cheeses, blueberry marshmallows, toffee-raspberry sweets... his beautiful sauces impressed. i even got one with me... They have... More

Bean & Beluga is situated in what used to be a bakery, although you wouldn't recognize it as such nowadays. The building is completely modernized, while retaining some of the original features. We were received very nicely by one of the serving staff and escorted to the rather small and atmosphereless aperitif area. The dining room is cozy, maybe a... More

A solo visit seems to be akward for some staff. Just me and a book, being on a business trip. I must admit, the food was very very good, light, bit on the salty side for my taste but okay. Presentation fine and a friendly but distant staff. The wine arrangement was good, not special. The German wines were great,... More
