I was greeted a waiter who was very friendly. The atmosphere was like a pub but the food was very good. The service was very good and quick. I knew what I wanted because I studied the menu outside the restaurant. I ordered potatoe dumplings, sauerbraten and red cabbage. This meal was very tasty. The sauerbraten was very tender, the... Stopped in for dinner one night while in Dresden. All enjoyed their meals. I had the duck which was very good. Friend had a pork dish he said was very good. Service was good. Had a few extra beer options which we enjoyed.

We had a fine meal to please the family (two veteran Germany travelers and two not-so-discerning teens). We all enjoyed the kind and funny staff- more than willing to work with our mediocre German. The food was nothing ultra-gourmet, but gad some nice variety on the 'day's menu'.

A good meal, in a very convenient location. The fare is standard German pub fare but of a high standard. The atmosphere is as you would expect from a pub. A good safe choice particularly for a family.

Situated near to the Frauenkirche this restaurant was busy, but service was still excellent. I had a lovely filling soup, followed by lovely herrings in a sour cream sauce, ending with local recipe pancakes. The beer was excellent. There was lots of wood - floor and walls. Well worth returning to if I revisit Dresden.

Perfectly located at Neumarkt just next to the Church of Our Lady and a 4* superior Hotel, Freiberger Schankhaus has typical Saxonian dishes and locally brewed beers on the menu. The terrace is very crowded and invites you to try one of the local beers and not just standard beers you find on every menu. I avoid to order food,... More

We ate outside and enjoyed the music coming over from outside the Frauenkirche As well. I had the chef's mixed grill, and it was fine except enough for 4 adults (or one teen boy). My wife had the trout and other than it was served whole, once beheaded it ate very well. This place is set up more for beer... More

Please don't be misled by the average rating. This restaurant was perfectly fine and the service was attentive and very friendly. We just found the dishes to be unexciting and the ambiance wasn't enough to bring us back for another visit. The prices were fair and we don't have anything bad to write about our visit there. We rated it... More

Great beer and food (we had goulash and chicken salat), friendly staff. The location is perfect, very close to Frauenkirche.
