I had the pork, beer gravy, sauerkraut and bread dumplings. I think it could be the most amazing meal I have ever had. The sauerkraut was very rich, so different to that in the south.

We ate here one evening and had good food, at about 9 euro each for a tasty, well prepared and presented main dish. The location was great, sitting at an outdoor table to view the passing tourists, fire jugglers when the show started in the square etc.

This large German restaurant has the atmosphere of a pub with far better food. The only unfortunate thing for us was they didn't seem to have an English menu and our German isn't very good. As a result, I ended up with a most unusual beer with cherries on the bottom! Nevertheless, the food was excellent and the service was... More

I was greeted a waiter who was very friendly. The atmosphere was like a pub but the food was very good. The service was very good and quick. I knew what I wanted because I studied the menu outside the restaurant. I ordered potatoe dumplings, sauerbraten and red cabbage. This meal was very tasty. The sauerbraten was very tender, the... Stopped in for dinner one night while in Dresden. All enjoyed their meals. I had the duck which was very good. Friend had a pork dish he said was very good. Service was good. Had a few extra beer options which we enjoyed.

We had a fine meal to please the family (two veteran Germany travelers and two not-so-discerning teens). We all enjoyed the kind and funny staff- more than willing to work with our mediocre German. The food was nothing ultra-gourmet, but gad some nice variety on the 'day's menu'.

A good meal, in a very convenient location. The fare is standard German pub fare but of a high standard. The atmosphere is as you would expect from a pub. A good safe choice particularly for a family.

Situated near to the Frauenkirche this restaurant was busy, but service was still excellent. I had a lovely filling soup, followed by lovely herrings in a sour cream sauce, ending with local recipe pancakes. The beer was excellent. There was lots of wood - floor and walls. Well worth returning to if I revisit Dresden.

Perfectly located at Neumarkt just next to the Church of Our Lady and a 4* superior Hotel, Freiberger Schankhaus has typical Saxonian dishes and locally brewed beers on the menu. The terrace is very crowded and invites you to try one of the local beers and not just standard beers you find on every menu. I avoid to order food,... More
