Very accommodating manager

We are here with a group of around 12-15 people. The manager was very helpful in finding a suitable place upstairs for everyone to be seated close together. They brought out a very tasty anti-pasti, for the whole table which was great. I had a prawn risotto (gambas), which was delicious... read more

One of our friends recommended this place so I came over on a friday for dinner. First they served some bread with some spread, the texture of the bread was way too try and the spread was some kinda strange mix - tasted sour and was not good! Then we had the lasagna classic. For 9 euro it was neither... More

We went to the Toscana twice. The first time it was with my family for lunch. We had book a table for 4 persons and were located outside on the nice terrasse. If the weather is great then it's really nice. The personal were OK. Not too nice but not bad either. We all choose to eat risotto. And it... More

I went there twice, once with the family and once with my partner. Both times the food was really good and the prices are more than acceptable. The service is good and the location looks really cosy and romantic. I loved there Broschetta and the Pizza was ok, not as I ate it in Italy, but still quite good for... More

I have tried most of the supposedly good restaurants in this very interesting and culturally rich German-Frech city on the Saar River. The best restaurant by far is Trattoria Toscana, on "Little Frog Street," right in the lovely, bright old center of the city. When I arrived here five years ago I started trying out restaurants. I've long since quit... More

My husband and I visited this restaurant and had a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant looks small from the outside but actually had 3 floors. We ate on the top floor which was quite nice with exposed beams & a rustic atmosphere. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The food was quite good with freshly made pasta as a... More

I went here a couple of times (3?). The experience is mixed, twice I liked the food (e.g., pastas were good, wine selection was nice, fish -- dorado -- was well cooked), but another time it was not really exciting (overcooked meat, bland sauce, overcooked pasta). I also do not really like service and atmosphere there. Overall, I may come... More

We were there on a weeknight, and it still took about 90 minutes to eat, even though we had no appetizer or dessert. The service was very friendly, but a bit slow. The food was very good though. One of us had fish, the other a salad, and one pasta. All of us enjoyed our meal. The portions were good... More

A bunch of us went to this restaurant last week as a group. We were loud, anglophone, complicated, and probably a little cheap, since we're academics. They coped great. We did have some trouble with language, but they do have 2 copies of an English menu, and between the 8 of us we did figure out, more or less, what... More

We were walking around Saarbrucken and found this lovely pedestrian only walkway and walked up 3 flights of stairs to a lovely rooftop garden eatery. Service was timed beautifully, food was presented very nicely, excellent salads and pasta. 4 euro a bit much for water though.
