We had a mid-day meal here on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Sitting outside with the view of the cathedral was very nice. The menu is simple and reasonably priced.

We like to find restaurants away from the highly touristed areas. While the outdoor terrace looks onto the Liebfraukirche, we felt somewhat secluded in this location. This self-service restaurant serves excellent food with quality ingredients and a nice complement of wines. I had the potato soup and a salad while my husband had the bratwurst with potatoes and kraut. Highly... More

If you are visiting Trier, whose centre is dominated by late-Roman architectural ruins and whose environs are surrounded by vineyards, the garden of this self-service restaurant is a must. Excellent local (Mosel) wines are the perfect complement to an array of typical German food. We had salads, and were impressed by the quality and condition of the ingredients of a... More

We were a group of 36 people. I arranged ahead of time via internet a private tasting in their old Roman cellar. Not everywhere will work with you on a Saturday. Great room - comfortable, not damp at all. Nice table set up. Carsten did a wonderful job walking us through 7 interesting Rieslings. Even the red wine fans appreciated... More

We,found this on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Although they had a bit of an electrical problem the day we were there and were not able to serve hot meals at that time, we had very good cold fish dishes for lunch accompanied by a terrific local trocken Riesling (their house label that we came later and bought a... Popular place serving traditional German food inside and out. The quaint restaurant was busy and one has to stand in line to order and pay. We selected smoked trout as an appetizer and veal bratwurst with sauerkraut, fried potatoes and beer. We enjoyed sitting outside with a view of the church while drinking our beer. The service was very slow... More

We stopped in here for a little lunch and to try a little wine. It was a rainy day but it was bustling inside. The meals are simple here. We had a traditional bean soup with sausage. It was delightful. The Weinstube itself was very quaint and cute. The prices were very reasonable and they had a good wine selection.... More

The restaurant has a landmark statue of ancient wine boat on the Rhine. It serves simple food with big bowel of salads and good beers and local wines.

Stopped by solely due to hunger pains and wasn't disappointed. Food was good as was the wine. Service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere/location perfect. Overall worth a stop on your sightseeing trail to grab a bite and some of their local wine.
