Interesting atmosphere, interesting food, interesting place.

We decided to visit this place after reading positive reviews from fellow travelers. We were not disappointed. The place was packed. Lucky for us we managed to get a table for two. We got a bowl of hot lentil soup, cheese platter, a serving of wild boar ham (five thin slices :), and a bottle of... read more

The atmosphere in this classical building opposite to the historic St. Peter`s cathedral and "Our Ladie`s Church is typical for a place to enjoy a good glass or bottle of Mosel Wine. They offer some dishes and it`s perfect when you are lucky and can enjoy it on the terrace.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place while spending the day in Trier. We had a wonderful meal. The service was very good. You order from the bar and take your drinks and then they bring the food to your table. We got 2 glasses of wine recommended by the server, the fried potato plate with sauerkraut, fried onions... It took us two days to get a table as they were fully booked so we had high hopes for the quality of the food unfortunately we were disappointed. Tasty but decidedly average. Cosy place but the self service ordering left it feeling like a drop in lunch than a special meal.

I ended up here three times during my week long stay in Trier - twice for dinner, and once for the first gluwhein of the season. It's very atmospheric - with a beautiful old wine press dividing the dining space. The staff (though not really the owner) were super friendly and the food was delicious - I recommend the blood... Cozy dinner and wine tasting. Reasonably priced and well prepared. Staff was helpful. Had quiche. My husband enjoyed veal meatloaf. Both good.

Good wine selection. Cheap wine and food. Pedestrian area. Nice with kids. Seating outside with view of the dome and basilica.

Nice spot in Trier (Germany). Come inside, find a seat and go to the bar to order food and wine. Weinstube Kesselstatt is located in the heart of Trier opposite the cathedral and the Church of Our Lady in the historical Kesselstatt palace. In wine tavern you can feel the atmosphere of an old manor house. An old winepress, floor-to-ceiling... More

The potato soup and the white wine sommerpalais are delicious. Great place nearby the beautiful Dom! With friendly staff.

This is a specialty wine shop where you take a seat and then go to the bar and order your wine and food from the comprehensive range on offer. The food mainly consists of light snacks such as soups, salads and plates of meats and cheeses. We had a large shrimp salad and a plate of local cheeses and ham.... More
