This is a small wine bar located in the main Market Square. They have many different wines from the area and you can enjoy either a glass of your choice or if it is difficult for you to decide, you can have a wine tasting of three or five different wines. Food is also very good, my husband had a... More

It gets tourists by the busload, but I love the traditional guesthouse ground floor and Roman relics in the basement, plus I fall for the "Roman menu" with its unique flavors. Good place to bring visitors to Trier.

Visited Trier on New Year's Day and it was practically the only place open!! We decided to go in and have a quick snack. The place was very busy but found a table without too much trouble. We had 3 Gluhwein and 3 Apple strudels. The dessert came with cream and ice cream and was good quality. Total bill was... More

We stumbled upon this place on a recent trip to Trier. Located in the centre of town, I was initially concerned it could be a tourist-trap place, however, I couldn't have been more wrong. We hadn't booked, and the upstairs was very busy, so we were guided downstairs into the Weinkeller. This was a very interesting room, and a lot... More

Ate here on a busy day. Staff was nice, place warm and food great. Had the Roman barely soup and loved it!

When entering Zum Domstein we were afraid of entering a tourist trap but as soon as the waiter came to use, we knew we were going to have a nice evening. All waiters were friendly. If you are looking for some fine French cuisine, this is not your place to come. What you get is very good no-nonsense food in... More

I had a meal here with a group in the back room and the food was excellent. The venision was awesome and so was the spatzle. Good selection of wines, expeically nice for wine lovers was the "sampler tray" where you could get a small sample of 6 different wines. Would highly recommend for dinner or lunch while you are... I have been here several times when I come to Trier to show the city to my visitors. Good quality food and fast service. They offer a quite nice wine tasting of wines from the region. Schnitzel is a must and the ragout is delicious! They have a nice layout inside and if it's nice outside they have two terraces.

Visited Trier for the day so needed a nice place for lunch. What a lovely find. Sat in the enclosed courtyard and had excellent schnitzels, one with jager sauce and one with zigeuner sauce served with chips and a bowl of salad. Washed down with a Bitberg beer. Followed by warm appelstrudel with cream and ice cream. A total delight.... More
