Good German food, but not super, and definagly not 4 out of 5. Huge portion, and served smoking hot. Cosy setting
We searched for this place on a Sunday night only to find it closed. We came back another day but only had time for a quick drink. It is only small but looks fantastic, service was friendly and menu looked good. Suspect it would be great for dinner. The location is just behind the main square towards the river...thank you... We found this wonderful restaurant while vacationing in Mainz last year. Overall, we had 4 meals that were all wonderful. Every meal we tried something different and each on was better than the last. As we are currently traveling through this area again, we could not wait to enjoy a meal here. It was as wonderful as last year. As... More
Good food, Good wine , what more can i say. THe downstairs area is a bit less hectic i think. Everyone enjoyed the meal, - party of 9.
The place is just in 3 minutes walk from the cathedral of Mainz. It's not on the main street so probably the tourist wouldn't go. The food is very delicious and the price is reasonable. There are a couple of daily menu on the blackboard. Vegetarians have their choices too. Inside the restaurant there are some large tables so when... More
We were looking for a Weinstube in Mainz and we were happy that we ended up here. The food is good and so was the service. We enjoyed that they have outdoor seating. The Wine list was excellent and very thoughtfully selected and presented on the menu.

Started with a nice riesling and to this we had some local cheeses - on of which was a "Handkäse mit Musik" served with onions and vinegar. On menu... More
Tiny, friendly, tucked behind the Gutenberg Museum, good food and local wine. Stayed in Mainz and ate here during the Frankfurt Book Fair -- welcome respite from the Frankfurt bustle. No credit cards. Tables inside (elbow to elbow seating) and outside (candles and umbrellas). Off the beaten track, and well worth tracking down.
