Very typical Italian restaurant but this one is a bit cheaper and more casual than its sister restaurant Il Contro. Most of your choices are pasta, pizza, and salad but they have very creative dishes especially featuring seasonal ingredients. Biggest plus is that they have gluten free pasta for all you people like me with Celiacs. They do sometimes take... More

Large selection of pasta and pizza dishes which have all been of a good quality in my experience. Salads also more imaginative and better dressed than most places I have been in Germany. Place is tastefully decorated, and service has always been of a high standard. Only small gripe is that in busy periods, the seating is packed tight, so... More

We went there for a later lunch, about 1:45. The restaurant was more than 2/3's empty and the lady told us they were too busy to seat us and turned us away. Pizzas looked good but they were not accommodating at all. Won't be back

Some of the best pizza I've ever had. Italy included .In addition, appetizer salad (with prosciutto, apple and walnuts) was fantastic. Two others had pasta they said was great. Hard to find...on a little side street...but worth the adventure for sure!

The ambiance of place is nice ... The waiters are soooooo rude, they aren't friendly at all , they treat clients as if they're beggars or are getting the food for free... Quality of food is not as expected to the prestige and reputation given to the restaurant , as it's not easy to get a reservation there so you... More

Al Cortile is a very popular restaurant in the center of the historic shopping district just off Augustiner-Str. We had reservations for upstairs (street level) seating - an absolute must on a saturday night as a number of people were turned away just as we were seated. The food was very good - not inexpensive. The mixed anitpasti was very... More

Pizza is good, the rest of the menu is average. Service is slow and somewhat unfriendly. Tables for two are small and crowded together. There are many more, much better Italian restaurants in Mainz

This is a very good restaurant with lots to choose from on the menu. To the restaurant's famous pizzas made on their stone oven to various fish and pasta dishes (among other things), you'll never become bored of what they have to offer. On top of that, when the weather is nice you can sit outside in an enclosed area... More

The pizza served was fresh and tasted deliciously. Long waiting though. The water was overpriced, but I think that is common for all restaurant here in Mainz
