quite a location!

i was there once, for a dinner , did not tried much-some starters and the soup. mostly went there to see the location from inside)) it is a former cathedral, if i am not mistaken, so the interier design is kept and reminds you a lot of a catholic cathedral- it is at least interesting..

Well, you wanna take dinner in a historic cathedral where Napoleon used to keep his horses? Thats the place to go. It has a wide type of menu and good portions. Everything is very good. The only small drawback is the acoustic which is accounted for by the building itself and its nice atmosphere.

We have been going there whenever we visit mainz - for over 10 years. Always good. I love the vegetarian curry dishes and their salads are huge. Unique but charming atmosphere.

This is my second time in this restaurant and I enjoyed both of them. Food is great and location is really charmy. No real need to book, since the place is huge but exactly for same reason is better for you to enter, find a seat and then ask for a waiter. Hints: - don't miss the avocado with goat... More

The food is decent. They have on the menu a sort of square shaped pizza, which is enjoyable. I've been here for dinner few times, and the food is consistent. Service is good. There is a court outiside with tables, perfect for the summertime. It is one of the best options in Mainz.

Surprisingly, the best meal at the table was a vegetarian dish (strudel). The other dishes our party had were hit and miss. All were good, but not great, and several complained that their dishes were too salty (though, to be fair, this is true of many if not most German restaurants). The potatoes that came with the veal were cold... More

We went to the restaurant on a evening and it took us a while to locate the restaurant via the sqaure at Dom Au Mainz. I really like the inside of the restaurant as it was quite gothic in design with high ceilings, windows and Christmas decorations. It wasn't busy at all that evening and we were quickly seated by... This restaurant was formerly a church. There are still church-like features however, it is tastefully decorated. We were here at a week before Christmas and there were lots of holiday decorations to create a nice, warm inviting atmosphere. We did not have reservations so we had to wait about 1/2 hour to be seated as the restaurant was packed--on a... More

Food good, great service, English subtitles on the menus really helped. Wines included really good German whites, and great beer. Overall a good restaurant with a pleasant German menu.
