The food is decent. They have on the menu a sort of square shaped pizza, which is enjoyable. I've been here for dinner few times, and the food is consistent. Service is good. There is a court outiside with tables, perfect for the summertime. It is one of the best options in Mainz.

Surprisingly, the best meal at the table was a vegetarian dish (strudel). The other dishes our party had were hit and miss. All were good, but not great, and several complained that their dishes were too salty (though, to be fair, this is true of many if not most German restaurants). The potatoes that came with the veal were cold... More

We went to the restaurant on a evening and it took us a while to locate the restaurant via the sqaure at Dom Au Mainz. I really like the inside of the restaurant as it was quite gothic in design with high ceilings, windows and Christmas decorations. It wasn't busy at all that evening and we were quickly seated by... This restaurant was formerly a church. There are still church-like features however, it is tastefully decorated. We were here at a week before Christmas and there were lots of holiday decorations to create a nice, warm inviting atmosphere. We did not have reservations so we had to wait about 1/2 hour to be seated as the restaurant was packed--on a... More

Food good, great service, English subtitles on the menus really helped. Wines included really good German whites, and great beer. Overall a good restaurant with a pleasant German menu.

The food was very refreshing from the hotel food! The drinks were fantastic and the "pizzas" were amazing! I would recommend this restaurant!

I would say the Heilig Geist was an interesting place to go for a one time experience. I ended up there with a group of friends doing a birthday weekend. We didn't eat when we arrived and were more or less there for drinks. The ambiance is great and the service was excellent, But honestly to pay over 6 Euros... More

The main selling point is that it's a church turned into a restaurant. The atmosphere is great, service is mostly prompt and the food is well prepared. It's a good place to spend some quality time with friends. Even if there is outdoors seating, your best choice is to get a table inside.

I was recommended by a local to try this restaurant. The place is gorgeous and has a really nice atmosphere. The food was really good and the service was quite quick even though the place was packed.

As a french guy wanting to try some german food of quality, I was recommended to try this restaurant and it was really awesome. The dishes were nice looking and succulent. It was hard making a choice as the whole menu sounded nice. The place is himself very special, kind of big church but a bit loud though.
