Very good place, the staff was very polite and friendly, the environment looks good and the food was very well prepared. It has a good range of prices and offers breakfast buffet.

I've eaten at the restaurant a few times on my business travels. The staff are always friendly and courteous. The lamb is my favorite and the steak is pretty hard to beat. They make fabulous cocktails.

We attended the 31 of December (St Sylvester) at this establishment. As usual this was not a cheap undertaking (it is nowhere in Europe) with 95€ pp without drinks, but the food was extremely plentifull and the choice was that great that I felt sorry not to be able to try almost everything.

We needed a place where we could eat some light, but fresh food, and so decided to try this place. It filled the bill. Both of us had a soup followed by dessert. I had a very tasty Pumpkin soup for €3.50 served with some scattered pumpkin seeds on top, I've never seen that before, but I'll be doing it... More

This is a great Buffet style restaurant. Always clean and the food is always great. I highly recommend breakfast here. When the weather is nice this restaurant has great outdoor seating. There's always more than enough variety to choose from and it's family friendly. My favorite place to eat in Mainz

Proviantmagazin is located in a former weapons depot at the northern end of Schillerplatz. It is adjacent to a small park and its outdoor seating has a very pleasant outlook as well as a very cheeky fountain. Unfortunately the outdoor tables serve smokers as well as smoking is verboten indoors in German restaurants and smoking is still very popular. The... More

When in Mainz we always eat at this restaurant at least once. The outdoorseating is very nice. They serve classical Rheinland food according to the seasons. No unpleasant surprises, I would recommend it to a tourist in search for authentic german food .

Had dinner with colleagues during a business trip. Good selection of food including, currently, a spargle menu which was delicious. They had menus in English which were very helpful for some of us who are not German. Will be back to sample other dishes for the menu!

We have taken our kids to Proviant Magazin for brunch and lunch several times and have always been very happy there. There are 2 (TWO!!) kid play areas (one outside and one inside), and the location and setting are very nice. We got the buffett brunch and were happy with the selection, although we were very glad we had reserved,... More
