we had the white saussages, pork knuckle(schweinshaxe) and as dessert the apple strudel, everything was fantastic and the waitress was very kind.. good service!
A delightful brewery restaurant with great atmosphere. The restaurant came highly recommended and it is worth the trip. The multiple rooms with low vaulted ceilings filled with locals send you back in time. The lunch special at under 6 euros is a bargain. Food is good and solid - schnitzels, sauerbrauten, dumplings are authentic and well prepared (not gourmet, but... More
Only spent one night in Mainz and asked the hotel for a good "local" spot for dinner and beer. They told me to go here, and I'm glad they did. Had the pork knuckle, which is their specialty. It was delicious! Great service and very good beer!
Fantastic atmosphere. Good beer and good but simple food. Mainly used by groups who are celebrating. Need a minimum of 4 people as companions to fully appreciate what is offered
I am a little biased with this review. I used to live in Mainz and the Eisgrub was my main stomping grounds. Thus, going back after 6 years to taste the beer and food brought many pleasant memories. I was alone but had to share a big long table outside with a bunch of loud smokers. I don't mind sitting with strangers but... More
Every time I come to Frankfurt I make the effort to get myself to Mainz and this great place to have a locally made beer and some really good food. This place is well worth going to. great atmosphere, good freindly service and very reasonable prices.

The food was average, for unfortunately was already almost cold when served. The place was pretty crowded and noisy. Not a high class cuisine, but well suited for a touristic "Adventure" with a... I stopped by Eisgrub Brau on the advice of a friend, and I wasn't disappointed the food and beer was great. Try the pork filet with mushroom gravy. Also, their light beer(Eisgrub Brau is a micro-brewery) was great!!!
