This place is our favorite place to eat and drink in Mainz, whether it be with friends, family, or business associates. The Schweinhaxe is the best thing on the menu and one of the best I've had in Germany. Fantastic Bier as well!

We found Eisgrub Brau on our way to St. Stephan's Church. We popped in for a nice lunch of cordon bleu and it was both delicious and a good value. Outside dining was pleasant so we stopped in for dinner too. The goronzola schnitzel and schnitzel wiener art were good but not great. The beers were very large and affordable... More

We had dinner in this particular place and we truly loved the beer tower. Food was not bad, portions are big, but it was tastier in other places. Anyway, you should try only or the great atmosphere and the amazing own beer they have!

After relocating to Wiesbaden from Heidelberg last year, a group of us were eagerly searching out a nice pub to throw some darts at. Having eaten here once 2 years ago for lunch, we deiced one night to stop at the Eisgrub before heading next door to the Irish Pub. The food was very good, bier tower a plus for... More

We decided to try this restaurant based on some of the excellent reviews we read. We found the food to be mediocre at best. The pork knuckle is a huge serving and not all that great. In addition we had the pork roast with gravy, sauerkraut and spaetzle - all were cold by the time they were served to us.... More

We wandered around Mainz trying to fine this place, it's on the opposite side of the road than I expected towards the citadel. My word was it worth the search, so many times we considered bailing on the trek and heading into another bar/restaurant; but we didn't - much to our joy. It's own beer is served in a variety... What a cool place, if you are in the Mainz area you must come here and have the Pork knuckle. It is fantastic. The have wide range of quality beers and the service was excellent. Even provided English menus for us.

This is more than a pub/restaurant but more of a work of art. Its a step back in time. The copper workings with exposed pipes and vats are truly unique and give the place such a great atmosphere. Give the Goulash and bread a try and order a double amount as its yummy and cheap (about 12 euro for the... More

This is a lovely friendly bar serving their own brewed beer in steins. Great beer but food is good, not great. Still worth a visit and good value

Two years ago we came across this restaurant and was a nice surprise. As we needed to attend the very same meeting, a new visit was paid... For us was very pleasant to notice it remained unchanged...Inside, it looks like a WWII bomb shelter but we found the same 3 or 5 liters of beer tubes, half meter sausages and... More
