Tasteless Pork Knuckles!

Our tour guide brought us to this restaurant to savour the famous German Knuckles. We had one each and honestly it looked quite nice on the plate, but to my disappointment, the meat was tasteless and the skin of the knuckle which was supposed to be crackling, was not crackling at all. In fact, it... read more

With some background - this is one of the bad restaurant experiences we had in Germany - but by far the worst, yet! First came the white wine - sour almost like vinegar, but at least well chilled. Then came the "Hungarian" Goulash - and it had nothing to do with the name: just some brown and salty water with... More

This was a very cozy restaurant in Koblenz. The food choices were broad and one could choose from typical German food to international dishes. I liked the fact that they had a menu in English. The staff was helpful with the choice of wine and dishes, even so their English was not that good. The house wine was tasty and... More

This is a nice place to try German food at the corner of the Mosel and the Rhein. The menu is huge and the staff very friendly. A translation in English is also available. We tried some XXL schnitzels for less than €16, this was definitively a large meal for hungry men! Finally, the interior of the restaurant was also... More

This was my favorite meal during our 22 day stay in Europe this Summer. Dined out on the patio, overlooking the Rhein river, while musicians played nearby. I had a meal with salmon, spinach, rice and shrimp, covered with a nice sauce. Plus a couple glasses of wine. It was absolutely delicious! Another one of us had a meal with... More

We had finished our day of bike riding and site seeing along the Rhine and decided to look for a restaurant overlooking the river with a patio. We wanted the view of the barges and cruise ships and weren't really dressed for dining in a nice restaurant setting. Several other bike riders were already eating on the patio so we... More
