The place (kind of a castle) the restaurant is located is just amazing. I was with my wife and as soon as arrived we asked for a glass of rose wine, and some more came during the entire dinner. The food is good, probably not the best i ever had, but very good. The cost, very very fair, which makes... More

Unless you can walk in here with very obvious signs of affluence, don't bother . One experience was enough for us, very offhand staff and service and all at a very high price.

Restaurant is in a very nice location, arriving in a castle still surrounded by water. We went there on a rainy Monday evening, early september and the place was quite crowded. It can be a good sign, and indeed it was confirmed by the quality of the place. We started with panfried scallops, tasting good but unfortunately a bit too... More

The Hugenpöttchen is a "simpler" sibling to the hotel Hugenpoet's great restaurant "Nero" in the bierstube style, but with clearly a high ambition and modern accents. A very good four course dinner were presented at my visit, with at seasonal (fall) theme ; ingredients like cranberry, root beats, apple and mushrooms. You'll like it here. Price/performance excellent!

Not only the ambience of the arival is special as you are in an old Watercastle, but also inside the restaurant you feel something special. Everything is perfectly designed and the staff is really nice. What is most important the food is very good, too. Even with kids in every age you can go there and feel welcome. I`ve been... More

ambience par excellence in a quaint castle environment---unexpected, modern cuisine for this part of the world----could you be in Paris? delightful presentation only to be surpassed by the flavor and taste of the food. We were four happy diners from two countries!

The restaurant was busy, but service was very good. We both had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we asked for the apple fritter and two spoons, and they served it on two plates as well, which was a nice touch. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality.

Recently I spent two nights on a business trip to duesseldorf in the schlosshotel hugenpoet. The huggenpoettchen is the more casual restaurants of this relais and chateaux hotel. It was Really surprising what we ate there. Everything was very fresh, with unique sauces influenced by the cooking know-how of the mother gourmet restaurant in the same complex. Brasserie like atmosphere... More
