Lively and noisy environment. Food is above average in price and as tasting experience. The grilled pork knuckle is sometimes too dry. So far the cotollete ( fried stake in a pan similar to bisteca a la fiorentina ) has been the best dish in the several times I've been there. The service is overall good ... not smiley but... More

When visiting the old town for the first time most of my friends stay along the traditional bar street near the Rhine enjoying a cool Alt while people watching. Im Fuchchen on Ratinger street offers the same experience although it is so much more authentic. I suggest to visit during lunch hour as the nights, especially on Wednesdays, this is... More

Your typical 'Germany brewery experience'. I personally love the beer and the atmosphere here. The menu card is extensive and has all the pubfood you'd expect (black pudding, schnitzel, bratwurst etc.). A good introduction if this is your first night here or just to come back for the no-nonsense food and attitude.

Buzzing place in the heart of the city. For the afecionados of the Braurei food a sure bet for a great evening. We had dinner with three work colleagues and we were all very pleased with ... Everything. The bratwurst was top class, and although I don't eat great portions, I wolfed it all, to the (composed) surprise of the... More

Very traditional German but average tasting food. Hardly any choice for kids and our child's schnitzel tasted "funky". The customers who frequent this place seem to be mainly older Germans. The bit that shocked us was the extreme rudeness of our waiter, who somehow even thought he deserved a tip! If you want some nice hearty food in Dusseldorf, just... More

Those who like hearty food in a homely atmosphere will love the Altstadt’s brewery pubs. They all serve savoury Rhineland dishes and home brewed Altbier and have similar interiors with scrubbed tables and wood panelled walls. Having visited all the brewery pubs in the Altstadt, Im Fuchschen soon became our favourite. Seven real ale enthusiasts on a several day gourmet... More

Brilliant place. It is so atmospheric and the food is a very good example of German cooking from this region. We had Deep fried pork shin served with potatoes and Purple Sauerkraut, and Herring served with lovely fried potatoes and salad. Both were served with oodles of top fermented "alt" beer. In typical German fashion, your drinks tally is marked... More

must at this restaurant in Altstadt AKA Old Town. We took the train over from the airport and it was a hassle free ride. You would think you were at a US restaurant based on the size of the portions. Mistakenly I ordered a side salad and by US standards that would have fed two. We dined on Bratwurst w/... More

Food, drinks, abiance, attention, price, cleanleness and cheer, made this a celebration location. Recommended by family, we were glad to meet Alexander Kampes the owner. He has provided venues for family events in the past. I must say that this place is fantastic. His staff are supurb! With both indoor and out door seating, you will love the view of... More

Always great and easy to meet meet people and create friends. If you would like to taste good typical Dusseldorf Braurei dishes and one of the best Alt beer of the city in a traditional Duesselorfer Braurei atmosphere...that's the right place!
