Pure Germany Style

This place is really fantastic! Pure German place: great beer, great food. One problem: you cannot stop drinking . Waiters will continue to fill your glass even if the previous is not empty… Actually Duss is quite a tourist city, Fuchschen Alt is a little outside from the main street (just 5... read more

Provided you are willing to share a table, this bar is amazing. Good beer and very good hearty, traditional food. We were able to share a table with a few other people, served beer with in a minute and were eating maximum of 15 minutes later.

My wife and I loved this restaurant. We wanted to experience something traditional and we were not disappointed. Great food and drinks. Super atmosphere, and friendly staff and guests. Easy to get in touch with the locals. Really memorable. We will definately return here.

Pluses: beer, food, service. Minuses: Crowd of smokers outside the front door. Not the brauerei's fault, though, and fortunately inside was comfortable and pleasant on a cold winter day.

The Füchschen is just another one of those little tradional local gems. Like you have the Hofbräuhaus in Bavaria you get the Altbiew Microbreweries along the Rhine. Lokal delicious food like it has been done for the last hundred years. Sauerbraten like my mother used to make it. The Beer is a very tasty Altbeer, similar to a North american... More

There are a few places where one must enjoy some Altbier - I'm Füchschen is certainly one of them. This time, I skipped the food but enjoyed a few beers. The crowd is mixed and sharing a beer with some strangers gets a conversation started easily. No doubt, a place to go and start a beer sampling

I was on a business trip and, having read good things about this place, I decided to go there for a quick dinner and a couple of beers. Well, this was probably the most awful food I had in years! I had a beef dish (can't remember the name, some sort of roll): overcooked, dry and cold. It looked more... More

Easy, casual dining at its best. The wiener schnitzel was so flavorful as were the fried potatoes with onions. The side salad also was very good. Many people were standing outside, but we were able to get a table inside for dinner. Not noisy but a feeling you are spending time with the locals. Great choice for a casual dinner.

We had lunch here one Saturday. Great beer, atmosphere and food. We tried to order using the German menu but got ourselves into a bit of a pickle ordering Monday's dish on Saturday so our advice is ask for the English menu. We had asparagus salad and pork with red cabbage. Both really delicious. We sat on one of the... More

This is the best place in town to have a typical Düsseldorf 'Altbier'. It is one of the best/the best beer in town and the place where local people go. You can just have a beer (like I) or you can sit inside and have great traditional local food. Portions are large and good priced. Don't worry when you do... More
