Really fun Duesseldorf Experience

If you want to sit for a few hours drinking Duesseldorf's famed Altbier, then this is a great place to do it. The beer is great, the food is tasty, and the service is jovial. A real Duesseldorf experience where the tourists can mix right in with the locals.

This bar-restaurant is really good. The food is awesome, the quantity is REALLY BIG + really cheap! Best choucroute I ever ate. The beer, as usual, was really good. Totally recommended!!

One of the great Dusseldorf bars this ever-busy gem serves up vast quantities of Altbier - the local speciality not dissimilar to a British bitter - along with good, traditional food. Atmospheric inside and with lots of seating outside this is a must for any beer tourist. Breakfast here is a real treat - but not for non-pork eaters.....

Lovely place on a street with other bars with different themes. Not as rowdy the main street "bolker strasse". Excellent German pub grub. " burgerlich ".

This is better than others in Dusseldorf, other old restaurants, and somehow more original, from the terrace outside with box type tables to the dishes that come with the altbier, which like any respected restaurant in D'dorf is made by their own brewery. In any of these type of restaurants don t expect waiters to be curteous or polite....is just... More

This place is really fantastic! Pure German place: great beer, great food. One problem: you cannot stop drinking . Waiters will continue to fill your glass even if the previous is not empty… Actually Duss is quite a tourist city, Fuchschen Alt is a little outside from the main street (just 5 minutes walking) but most of the attendees are... Provided you are willing to share a table, this bar is amazing. Good beer and very good hearty, traditional food. We were able to share a table with a few other people, served beer with in a minute and were eating maximum of 15 minutes later.

My wife and I loved this restaurant. We wanted to experience something traditional and we were not disappointed. Great food and drinks. Super atmosphere, and friendly staff and guests. Easy to get in touch with the locals. Really memorable. We will definately return here.

Pluses: beer, food, service. Minuses: Crowd of smokers outside the front door. Not the brauerei's fault, though, and fortunately inside was comfortable and pleasant on a cold winter day.
