A must-do in Dusseldorf Altstadt

The Zum Uerige is impossible to miss if you wander the Altstadt in the early evening as so many locals stop by after leaving work that we had no chance of drinking inside - which apparently is all traditional wood and atmospheric - and joined the masses (I do mean masses) drinking at tables on both... read more

If you find yourself at Dusseldorf, it's a must to visit this place and enjoy its own beer and the tasteful platters. Have visited it twice during our stay at Dusseldorf while the second one was on Saturday early afternoon, packed inside and outside with many football fans watching football and enjoy their beer.

Busy place where all local people meet after work and the amounts of fresh dusseldorfer alt you drink are ticked on your beer mat. The beer is complimented by "Mett" rolls cured pork and the two go together very well

On constrast with the other rastaurants and bars we visited, this place had quite friendly personnel. It was also nice to see the locals watching a footbal match, cheering and shouting. The bar is quite old en makes its own beer. Very good place to stay for an hour or so.

Great beer and very tasty, reasonably priced food. The atmosphere is wonderful too. Highly recommend to anyone hoping to find the 'genuine' German experience.

Sat outside (inside are really big rooms) in the sun and really enjoyed the beer and meatballs - truly yummy. Very good service and I love the way that they mark the beermat with what you have ordered - the first time that I have seen that. Perfect location near the Rhine, very traditional and highly recommended for tourists and... More

This is a cultural must if you are visiting Dusseldorf. The beers come to you , and the staff is efficient and fun. Dont expect great Food here though, it is a beer stop on your way to your dinner.

One of a handful of truly great bars in Dusseldorf. The atmosphere is superb and the Altbier - the local speciality, not dissimilar to British bitter and not at all like pils - goes down very well. Good value, traditional food too.

Never disappointed, always want to go back gain. The beer is excellent and one of my favourites, the food is superb and always of the highest brewery restaurant standard. Friendly and great if with family, friends or alone... always include Zum Uerige in my list each time I go to Duesseldorf. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

Fantastic beer hall which is huge inside and has outdoor tables. Food is served including snacks that are offered around the tables by the waiters. Good service and prices and a good alt beer. Was good to see where 'auf eidersen pet' was filmed too.
