A very German-type of place! Their beer is good and self made, which is amazing! I've been there to eat and also just to have a drink and both times have been nice. The service could be a little nicer and the food could be better, but definitely a must for people visiting Düsseldorf, mostly if they're not from Germany... More

There were four of us that went and stood outside and drank Alt Bier on the street on a mild October night after eating dinner elsewhere. The Alt Bier was great. The beer kept flowing and our wait staff was friendly. I would go back. Can comment on the food. Did not really see anyone eating anything.

A must visit in Düsseldorf. The place is huge but they have lots of waiters to keep your drinks full. I was there in October and they still had a bar outside at the weekend.

We haven't been eating inside. We wanted to enjoy a couple of Altbier first. The serving staff outside was extremely unfriendly and we noted that all glasses were about 20% below the filling mark. When we mentioned this to the waiter and asked for a proper glass of beer, filled with the amount of liquid we paid for, we were... More

This place is a must-visit for anyone visiting Dusseldorf - but be prepared it does get very, very busy, which speaks volumes of it's reputation and its Altbier. The local food available is first class and can recommed the pea soup (only available on a Saturday) - a meal in itself. No empty glasses here as they keep replenishing until... More

I visited this famous Düsseldorf landmark and was totally disappointed. There are way better alt beers than this one and the food is just plain flavorless German "fast food"

If you like beer--this place must be on your bucket list. This is the real deal. They serve a great (and surprisingly affordable) local style "Alt" beer, which is fabulous. Don't expect cuddly American-style service though. This is place for Germans to go to eat and drink beer. And it fills that role well. All-in-all, one of the best bars... More

It's the center of the longest bar on Earth and a must-go-to place if you are in town! Also home of the famous Altbier!

The best place to experience the famous German altbier and the traditional food. The atmosphere is very rustic and the beer service is very efficient :)
