Worth to visit for a beer

I believe this was an authentic experience which was not created just for tourists. Alt Beer was perfect. Menu is not very wide but seems that most of people came there for beer, not for eating. So if you seek just for the beer and atmosphere, this is the right place.

The famous Uerige has "always" been there, it seems, and it hasn't changed much. A large brewery house with a rustuc charme throughout, serving Uerige, an Alt with a rather unique, slightly bitter taste. They also serve Düsseldorf-style snacks like Halve Hahn and Frikadellen. The waiters (Köbes) may seem a little grumpy at times, but according to the local narrative,... More

A must go place if you are in Düsseldorf. Not only is the beer great, but the atmosphere and the "German sushi" (raw meat with onion on wholewheat bun) are (really!) excellent. Located in the Altstadt, this place is an institution and the place to go before dinner.

Great service, great home-brewed Altbier and also a wheat beer. Do not embarrass yourself by asking for anything else! Food is good too, whether potato soup with a frankfurter on the side or half a chicken and coleslaw (okay we had chicken and chips which was not on the menu, just ask!) The place is much bigger than it seems... More

Great place to have an "Alt" after looking at the Rhein. Great atmosphere, traditional food that is not expensive in a very nice and picturesque setting. Loved every minute.

Great 'not-so-little' tavern/bar/pub. It appears tiny when you enter, but is at least 20 times bigger inside. Old-style traditional location. Great local beer, beef tartar sandwiches, salads, sausages, etc... Trust me, you won't leave neither sober, nor hungry :) Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and atmosphere is very jovial.

This brewery and pub is here for more than 150 years and the people running it know how to keep the tradition and still meet the needs of people today. If you want to escape from the shopping mall experience that central Duesseldorf imposing on its visitors, this is the place to spend an hour or two. The building with... More

Go to the back room and lap up the atmosphere of a proper beer hall. The barmen regularly come through the hall kicking the beer kegs in front of them as they constantly change barrels of beer at the bar. Great place if you are visiting the Altstadt. Word of warning, CHECK your bill, I have been in a group... More

Been visiting for years and the place seems to have lost a bit of pzazz recently. Some of the waiters seem to have become more intolerant and the service seems to have slowed; no discrimination, he was brusque with all nationalities of customer. We visited on a relatively quiet night too. A sign of the times is that we were... More

We tried to get served here on a Saturday night but it was impossible as it was so busy. Sunday was a much quieter evening. We took a table outside and my husband had the altbeir on offer. I don't drink so I had the "Rhubarb lemonade" - it was horrible and I could still taste it in my mouth... More
