Very traditional German restaurant with great food and alt beer. Perfect place to go for tourists to enjoy local community life style.

This bar is over-rated it lacks any atmosphere at all, the beer is nowt special nor is the food, there are many much more friendly bars and restaurants in the Alstadt worth a visit.....disappointed.

Loved this place !!! I was so glad that I chose this place for my one day stop in Germany. We ordered a meat platter for 3 people (which I thought was 20 euros but was actually 20 euros per person) and it was delicious and came with a few huge sides ~ it actually would have been enough food... Me and my family were not able to eat here because when we got in, I was eating a package of fries and they told me that i had to end it outside, that part is totally understandable but why do they have to be SO rude when saying it?? If they had been polite probably we would have entered...... More

Went here with a large group of mixed nationalities, Brits, Germans, Scandinavians, Benelux. We sat in one of the areas which is for large parties, beer arrived, banged down on the table with not so much as a smile. Some of the party didn't drink beer and were offered low quality red or white wine, when asked if there was... More

A friend I and went over to Dusseldorf a few month back for a Bundesliaga 1&2 weekend. We have German friends who live in Dusseldorf and this particular beer house was our agreed meeting point after we had arrived. My friend and I both ordered the knuckle of pork which come with mash and sauerkraut or red cabbage and dumplings.... More

When in Germany - just got to do the local beer hall. This one is pretty much all you'd expect. Nice dark local beer (served in small glasses) minimises the lunch consumption. The Schweinehaxe and accompaniments went down a treat too. As always the service was full of German efficiency with a a fair bit of fun too. Big tick.... More

German beer hall atmosphere. Very fresh beer, smal glasses ensures a frequent refill of very tasty locally brewed beer..Ordered Schweinehaxe, specialty of region. Very tasty and huge. I was unable to eat all, which is very rare. Highly recommended.

Went here for some traditional German food & beer. The beer was delicious and served with German efficiency. The beer man has got a tray full of beer and while roaming the tables he puts them down were needed, when the tray is empty he picks up another one from the bar, very nice and simple concept. Food was amazing,... More
