I come here purely for the beer. It is the best beer in Dusseldorf, but unfortunately the service is very bad and the barmen are slow and rude. I have had some nice experiences, but every time there is at least 1 incident which makes the service questionable. But like I said, the beer is amazing.

This is a very good place to sit outside and eat by the Rhine. The patio area is very nice and they have a good selection of beer. We got the German wood plate of meats and cheeses for a snack to split and a few beers. It was an excellent place to sit and unwind, but it is a... More

The brauhaus is located in the middle of the old town and is renowned for good food and beer. Ended up visiting twice for food and popped in on several other occassions for a few beers, you can stand outside and watch the world go by accompanied by the local beers. Zum schlussel is famous for the marinated beef wth... More

For all real ale fans great place to sample Germans greatest export beer! Brewed on site one of seven brewery in Dusseldorf. They do tours but plan and book ahead if you want to know what's going on (tours in German) This place was busy every time we visited, expect to wait for table if you want to eat. The... More

This brauhaus was recommended by our hotel and they were right. The beer is good (they make it themselves), the audience is terrific and the food is quite good. It tends to get really busy during the evening and you can only wonder how they serve so many people at once (both outdoors and indoors). We didn't make reservations and... More

Very large, typical brauhaus in wat is called "the longest bar in the world". Dusseldorf has its own type of beer, alt beer. This brauhaus has as such only one kind of beer,.. yep... alt. Since smoking is forbidden in bars and restaurants in Germany, it's generally quieter inside and the large crowd is standing in the pedestrianised street.

The best of the Altstadt breweries we tried over the course of a week. Grab a stand up table, inside or outside, they will slam beers down in front of you. Ask your waiter for a table, that's how it works here. On a busy Friday night around 7:30 PM, waited (and drank beer!) about 30 minutes for a sit... More

We took a tram into the Old City and sort of wandered into this place. The atmosphere was loud and merry, an afterwork kicking back vibe. We sat down to some fun hearty German fare, schnitzel with a fried egg on top? Yes please! Entrees with mashed and roasted potatoes, no fear of double starch in this place. There were... More

...with good home cooked food, not over priced, in a great atmosphere is the recommendation for this Brewery in Duesseldorf's Altstadt.

Pop in here for a quick drink and a snack. The "Senfsuppe" or mustard soup sounds weird but is a local speciality and honestly is worth a try, it has a mild taste like that of "american mustard". It is yummy, share a bowl if that suits you...
