Food good atmosphere great

We stayed in the Raddison Blu and not being a fan of dining in hotels asked at the reception of the hotel for local recommendations, Bocconcino was suggested as an alternative as the previous night we had eaten in an authentic German restaurant. We were a party of 5 and turned up at 9.30pm on... read more

We visited this place on Valentines night as it was our anniversary. On arriving we asked the manager who greeted us if he spoke any English as our German is poor. He spoke a little and showed us to our seats, upon which another waiter approached who didn't speak any English and the menu was entirely in German. He in... More

A busy place that seemed populare, recommended by the hotel, to our surprise did not live up to our expectations. Very efficient and cheap (37 euros for two large pizza's, a glas of apple juice and a glas of wine) but to us bland. If you are looking for a authentic cosy Italian atmosphere - go somewhere else. Maybe we... More

Tried this place as one of the fashionable spots in lovely Dusseldorf. The start was on a positive note, as they do have a dedicated free parking in front of the main entrance, which crucial if you come by car to Hafen. We were seated outside with a nice view, served fast with a menu. The waiter was quite pushy... More

Nice place in a beautiful location of the city…but that’s it. Very poor quality for food and drink. Far away from a good Italian taste. Ratio quality/price absolutely at the lowest level. Nice to spend an after-dinner with friends but not recommended if you love good food and taste!!!

Accidently arrived in this restaurant and i'm very glad I did. From.pasta to pizza, to steak. Realy allround offer. The pasta was just execellent, real al dente. Warm welcome by the waiter, with authentic italian accent, to be appreciated. The choice of dessert was another surprise, we followed the waiters advice which was a mix of choices to share, it... The food was amazing, the steak could have been served with a spoon it was that soft. You must have it with the truffle sauce. It was recommended to me by the waiter who was salivating just telling me about it.

Bocconcino is a fairly trendy italian restaurant in the Düsseldorf Media Harbor area. Perhaps located a bit off from the rest of the trendy places in the harbor area, but worth a visit, at least for their tasty thin pizzas which I enjoyed several times. Also very good value for money.

In the harbor of Duesseldorf you feel you are in Hamburg: exciting architecture wherever you turn your eye. The menu at Bocconcino has unfortunately nothing to excite you: ordinary Italian food, Service is slow and forgetful. Do not take the affugato: it is served as an iced espresso.
