What a dissapointed experience

A very fancy place, modern and with a peculiar way to orden the food. Food was not that good. Tasteless and poor quality. We orderer different dishes and not even one was a wow factor. Highly NOT recommended if you like sushi, makis or tempura.

Arrived without any reservation. Few people were waiting for a table. Luckily they've found me some spot. Atmosphere was nice, staff was nice and the food was ok as well, not spectacular but if you reckon to eat all types of sushi and more for 2,5 hours it is worth the money (€25). Visited at 23.02.2015

Living in Düsseldorf, we have learned that taking friends and visitors to Okini is always a hit. Make sure you have a reservation to experience this restaurant though. Basically, each person at the table can order up to 5 small plates per "round". You can choose soups, sushi, starters like spring rolls, chicken skewers, fish, prawns, or rice, noodles, etc.... It's look and is known as a Japanese restaurant but it is FUSION restaurant. here: Japanese, Chinese and Korean food! Her you find fresh, various, fusion food, nice atmosphere, really nice service. Reservations You have to. It is almost always full, for two person you can find place without, but...

My friend and me, we were the only "japanese" guest at Okinii restrant at that night. Service were smart, atmosphare were good, but foods were, a kind of nightmare. Especially, rice of Nigiri and also Maki, were terrible. Good to have "all you can eat" system in expensive german city, but still better to eat "german food" than such false... More

The concept all you can eat for Japanese kitchen was new to me. If you want to eat quick and a lot, then this is your place. Service is friendly and (very) efficient but food quality is really average. There are so many good Japanese restaurant in the area that I would not go there any more.

Tried Okinii as we like Japanese style food and wanted a change from traditional German fare. We didn't have a booking but were welcomed nevertheless. Quality of food was reasonably good given the price of 14 Euros for all you can eat. Enjoyed the novelty of ordering by I-pad which actually meant a swift response from the kitchen. Decor comfortable... More

atmosphere is modern and nice, but not a japanese style anyway. ordering method: ok, by iPad. modern, yes, all you can eat, yes, ordering every 15 mins. but you can have some sushi or maki with lots of rice and a thin layer of fish. Nice info to know: they do not accept credit card: is this due to the... More

Not the best Japanese food I've ever had, even though 25€ for all you can eat is fine, food was good, the waiters are fast & friendly and you order quickly via own table iPad! I can recommend going there, but it is nothing special given that Düsseldorf is famous for its Japanese cuisine.

Any restaurant that is "all you can eat" that refuses to seat someone despite multiple empty tables, but without a reservation is in the wrong business. Don't risk this while travelling when klosterstrasse is one block over with exceptional sushi choices.
