Not Gourmet but amazing food!

So most people expect the best presented food and the most elegant tastes in salads, this isnt for you. What is for you though maybe the most amazing exquisit taste in pork ranging from pork medallion or pork shoulder which is cooked slowly with a grill and the juices running down onto the next... read more

Bier is nice, staff is friendly, food is hot and tasty. Although it's not the best pork leg I've tried, it should be one of those I'd love to revisit.

If you are a lover of roast pork with crispy crackling then Schweine Janes' schweinenhaxe is for you. Cooked perfectly & served with mashed potato & sourkrout, & washed down with good Alt Beer. If pork isn't your thing they also have a decent selection of beef & lamb dishes. Maybe not so good for vegetarians, though. The restaurant is... More

The Old Town can be a bit touristy or a bit tacky, but Schweine Janes is just down-to-earth, basic and does what it does really well! For us, that was rotisseried pork, done to perfection - really flavourful and tender. Sides were good too, as was the beer. Perfect authentic German "street" food. Loved it and will be having cravings... More

Tasty local cuisine, pork prepared in different ways and good Alt beer. Reasonable prices and giant portions. I really enjoyed this place and can suggest this to anyone, except vegetarians:)

Visiting the Altstadt always starts at Schweine Janes collecting a Spießbratenbrötchen with lots of "Kruste" as a foundation for a few "Alt". An absolute highligt since a long time at constant quality!

if it's haute cuisine then this is probably not your place. We felt it was good value and decent quality. The place was clean including toilets which is always a good sign, the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a large mixed grill before heading out for a night of Alt Bier sampling and all of us enjoyed the... More

We got a tip from another traveler that eating at this small place is a must when you are around. So we went to look for it on a normal Monday. It was busy!! unbelievable that a small place like this is so busy and waiting for your meal doesnt take very long. Its a very popular place to eat... More

Went twice in 3 days. Would have another knuckle if I were one more day in Dusseldorf. Generous portion, authentic. You see the load of meats cooking away. Even the simple pork bun (schweine brotchen) was to die for. Very tasty, juicy, big chunks of meat. Skin and all considered, they were not at all greasy. This is a casual... More

Had the pork meat over here. If you like fat with your meat it must be OK. Side potatos and bean salad were average at the maximum. I don't understand the high rating of this restaurant on tripadvisor, but maybe its because I'm not german. And no problem that the personell joined me eating at my table, but she could... More
