I love pork meat, it's taste and the fattiness of it. And that is exactly what you get at Schweine Janes. Really good cooked pork meat. (there are other options as well, but they're known for their pork obviously). Busy place, we were lucky to sit at a bar table. Quick service and amazing pork meat for a low price.... More

We have been to Schweinen Janes five times over a period of eight years and have never been disappointed with the meal, mind you we always had the Schweinhaxe which is a speciality and their most popular dish. It is simply delicious, huge and the crackling is perfect. This place is in the heart of the Altstadt and is not... More

Schweine Janes is a popular place. It is just off the Marketplatz on Bolkerstrasse (which in general has real tourist trap places). The high rating Schweine Janes enjoys translates to it being hard to find a table or even to share one (German style). We went early to make sure we could get a table. The place was bustling as... One of the problems with Trip Advisor is that all eating houses are all under one hat. Trip Advisor needs to split fast food, kebab houses, one step above a kebab house and fine dining. Schweitzer James falls into the one step above the kebab house! It's German fast food but good fast food. Don't expect a linen serviette here... More

This tiny little restaurant is a pork-lovers dream. So many different types of pork available, but go for the Schweinehaxen, or roast pork knuckle. You'll get a dinnerplate-sized pork knuckle covered in crispy skin and fat. I'm getting hungry just thinking about our meal there. Go there. Now.

We visited Schweine Janes twice while staying in Dusseldorf and found the food to be authentic and very good quality for the price. The service is excellent and waiters very friendly. The restaurant is located in the heart of Altstadt and can get very busy, however with both seating indoors and out you should be able to get a table... More

A small shop front in a street filled with restaurants of all genre in Old Town Düsseldorf. Very very busy during lunch when everyone jostles for seats. My German friends and other German tourists all attest to the authenticity of the dishes, mostly done over a vertical spit. A must visit if you want traditional German pork dishes. They do... More

We ate lunch here sitting on the benches outside. The food is good, the atmosphere was friendly (at least two couples near us seemed to be regulars and were having a good chat with the waitress). The food was decent and service was swift and cheerful. Because we were sitting outside, things got a little uncomfortable when a large group... More

This unassuming cafe restaurant sells chiefly a Pork Dishes and you have just GOT to try the Sxhweinhaxe. It is out of this world - a large roasted Pork Knuckle that is cooked to perfection and so succulent that I'm still salivating 3 days later at the thought of it ! We visited here about 5 years ago and on... More

There are no airs and graces with this restaurant just good wholesome food. Although the menu does offer other meats rather than pork, that was all I saw being ordered. Probably because it looked so tasty going around on the spit. It was very tasty indeed, best bit of pork I've had in a long time. And it was very... More
