I liked the hustle and bustle and environment of Fischhaus more than the food really. The food is good and reasonably priced but nothing exceptional. I had haddock Dusseldorf style with a creamy mustard dill sauce. Good flavor but lots of bones. My daughter found her halibut likewise good but bland. i think it is probably more a function of... In the middle of Altstadt the best place for fresh seafood, whether you like shrimp, fish of any kind, oysters, clams, octopus, you have it all here, soups, carpaccio, anything and everything well prepared. The place is always full, and the waiters are speedy very knowledgeable they can guide you through the wide selection of dishes hot or cold in... More

Would recommend Fischhaus in summer. Good selection. Lunch is a good idea. Ideal for "people watching" as the restraurant is on a lively street in the old part of the city.

Very good and fresh sea food. I recommand the monkfish with Spanish ham, just delicious and a bit different. Nice staff, very efficient despite the amount of customers. Ambiance Bistrot to visit absolutely! But don't forget to book if you are going for 18h30 because you may have to wait some time.

A very busy place, especially during the Medica tradefair. The first night we passed it there was a queue outside at least 100 people long. We got there earlier the 2nd night (6.30) and managed a table straight away. Service was fine even though extremely busy. Excellent meals for 3 of us, my fish mixed-grill was excellent. Definitely will go... More

I like this place, but don't go the evening of a trade fair. I had reservations months in advance and the line up and the wait to get in was terrible. When you do get seated they don't ask you for your name to check the reservation, you just get seated. The staff were overwhelmed and rude not just to... More

Tried Fischhaus two times with both experiences average for meals and service. Wide variety on menu, busy and longer than average wait to be seated. For such a "popular" place I would have expected better meals (taste and freshness), especially with the higher prices.

A little disappointing restaurant as we thought it would be quite nice. At times you have to wait for a seat and it is a restaurant not worth waiting for. The food is expensive and quite average. The atmosphere is inviting though.

Every time I come to Dusseldorf, I eat at the FISCHHAUS. There is always a crowd outside the restaurant waiting to get in. The restaurant seating is very tight, the tables are small, the waiters are always in a hurry and have little patience - this is the "ATMOSPHERE" of this place, but most important FOOD IS EXCELLENT. The bouillabaisse... More
